Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen Specialon September 11, 2010 at 11:44 PM
A recently released scan from Shonen Jump magazine reveals a brand new Naruto Shippuden fighting game coming to the Nintendo Wii. The scan shows Sasuke, his Dragon Flame and Kirin attack as well as Sage Naruto in action!
We aren’t sure what this game is called as the scan is in Japanese, but if we had to guess it would be Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen SP just because the Gekito Ninja Taisen name has been attached to all of the Wii fighting games in Japan, and there is a big SP on the scan. Of course we could be (and probably are) completely wrong on the name, so once we find out what the game is actually called, we’ll be sure to let you know!
For those that never heard of Gekitou Ninja Taisen, it’s the Japanese equivalent to North America’s Clash of Ninja games. The Wii Clash of Ninja games are generally not ports of the Gekito Ninja Taisen Wii, but many of the same character models and stages do appear in both games.
Anyways, this new Naruto Shippuden game seems to be hitting Japanese retailers December 2 of this year. We doubt this game or any Naruto fight game will make an appearance in North America this year, but with Naruto you never know for sure!
UPDATE SEPT 12: So after reading some of the comments below and then comparing the Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX logo with this one, it seems we some how managed to correctly guess the name! This new Wii fighter is going to be called Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen SP / Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen Special. Lucky us!
