Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale Now Officially Confirmed

Last week we reported Namco Bandai Games filed two trademarks – one for Dragon Ball: Ultimate Butouden and the other for Dragon Ball Zenkai Battle Royale. Ultimate Butouden was confirmed yesterday via a scan and today Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale is also confirmed!

The thing with Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale is that it is an arcade game (like the one you would play at an actual arcade or Chuck E. Cheese) so that likelihood of it coming to North America is pretty low. For our Japanese fans, the arcade game is set to debut February 4, 2011.

Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale seems to be like Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team in that two characters can be on the same team. In the trailer below, for example, you’ll briefly see Piccolo holding an opponent (Android 16) and then Goku charging a Kamehameha to shoot at the opponent. The graphics looks very nice and detailed, possibly better than Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, but we’ll let you be the judge of that.

There official website, db-zenkai.com, is live, but contains nothing more than a splash image and the trailer below.

Thanks so much to Ty Morris for sending this interesting bit of news to us!

(like the one you would play at an actual arcade or Chuck E. Cheese)

    what does it mean ???

  • Chris Blankman

They mean it’s an actual arcade game; there’s a cabinet, and a stick more than likely. An actual game you’d see at an arcade. Not a console game.

Look man if Namco Bandai wants to make some money off that DBZ Zenkai they better release that in the U.S for the Playstion 3 1. cause the graphics are amazing its exactly how i always wanted it to be as a DBZ GAME no black lines on the character outline its 3d graphics like soul calibur 2. the fighting is more realistic and original like the Anime3. The Game-play looks a lot better4. i can tell by the way you handle your character is a lot smoother and less annoying 5. In general it looks better then any other DBZ game including the new Dragon Ball Z Raging blast 2 crap SERIOUSLY!! BRING THAT GAME OUT HERE TO THE U.S OR ATLEAST MAKE ONE FOR THE UNITED STATES!!!!!!!!! I DEFINITELY PAY $500 dollars for that games come on NAMCO BANDAI WHATS WRONG WITH YOU JUST LEASING OUT THE GOOD GAMES FOR JAPAN!!!!

To be honest I was a little on the fence about the graphic but frankly, I think they’re badass. I remember the anticipation I had for the first Raging Blast but then saddened when it was practically Tenkaichi with next gen graphics. Don’t get me wrong, it was still fun to play but overall it was like all the other games. I’m happy to see they implemented these team attacks for this game and the change of graphics. However I don’t see this coming to the PS3 or 360 anytime soon. Arcade games generally take 2 years or so before there’s a release to a console(Initial D Extreme Stage, for example). Lets just hope its sooner, though.

when is this game comeing out

The Game Has Come Out In Japan (Feb. 4 2011) But the release for North America Is Still Pending. In My View, The Game Will Probably Not Be Released In North America, Because The Game Is An Actual Arcade Game. They May Translate It To English, But I Believe That is Lowly Likely.

It won’t hit the arcades in the US but it will hit the consoles, I’ve played the game over in Japan.  It’s a fucking blast!!!!!

There is a good chance they will port it, if they can port Gundam Extreme VS to PS3 then they can port this too.
