Not sure what to think, I mean they revealed we get a shitton of characters, which is a nice aspect of the game. But I’m hoping they will be able to show us a new engine build with something to behold other than a massive character roster.

    New engine build lol?

Look at gameplay already released, its just storm 2 with storm 1 and the newer arc characters.

Although i did read something about them trying to balance the online, but sadly it won’t matter how much they work at it, as long as i can press 2 buttons to do an ultimate, it will never be balanced.

yes but massive character roster is still awesome!!!!! besides a new engine would probably be a little better harder for them to do and well they will take more time, so yey generations!

As long as Ino has a kick that takes out more damage than an eight tailed cloaked liriat to the chest, it will never be balanced…..

  • Justin Smith

Your right. What I don’t understand is when they made the second game the main thing they worried about was online play i mean come on. If I was a game developer I’d care more about the overall game play than the online aspect of it.

    Best comment ever.

  • Chris Blankman

I’m going to be an asshole and say as long as the combos are scripted and done with one face button, it will never be balanced. I don’t even consider it a fighting game, despite how fun it may be sometimes. It’s not Street Fighter, Tekken or Blazblue… it’s Naruto. I don’t think we’ll ever get a Naruto game, other than Ninja Taisen 4, that comes even relatively close to being competitively balanced. We shouldn’t expect “balance” or depth from the Ultimate Ninja series. We should expect fun. It’s nice that they’re trying though.

I agree with Chris Blankman. I think they shouldn’t worry about the Online mode that much. Playing Naruto with some friends in a local multiplayer is already fun, and as a fan, I want to see ultimate jutsus like the PS2 games or at least like Storm 1, with button mash and everything, but has to be cool and fun to play. We already have others games to play online and compete more serious. Naruto only has to be cool and fun to play!

If I can defeat the likes of Raikage, Killerbee, Sasuke, Naruto, Pain, Itachi, and Minato, with characters like Karin, Ten Ten, Sai, Ino, Shino, Sakura, and Konan without spamming, then we can talk about balance.

But in all seriousness, I’m hyped up so far as to how this game is turning out. For those who’ve seen the footage at SDCC 2011 this year, we know that you can no longer kill an opponent with a grab. That to me is a huge improvement and a big step forward in the combat mechanics. However, Sasuke, as a character himself, was completely overpowered, in terms of speed, strength, and abilities, and it became even more ridiculous with his Susano’o awakening, where arrows that can be shot like a machine gun halfway across the map take out nearly half a bar of health per hit. Though that’s not surprising, considering the fact that Sasuke is an overpowered character in the actual anime/manga. What CC2 needs to do though is to nerf the amount of damage these powerful characters can dish out while keeping their abilities and combos in tact. Also, to help out with the spam issue online, just place jutsu clashes back in the game. That’ll solve that problem real quick.

    hi
everyone go to http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/N… they say the release date is december 31st for japan 2011 and december 31st 2012 for the english air date?????????????????

  • Anonymous

yeah each of sasukes combos take more than half of the health bar and there are only 2 health bars we need to have 3 health bars for longer battles jutsu clashes for non spamming with rasengan and chidori ect. and for teh combos to take not that much damage.

i dont know about kakashi with zabuza’s sword but yeah killer bee with samehada

So I assume there won’t be any new info til Gamescon. I really hope they introduce a new game feature that’ll make us want to buy this instead of revealing more characters.

i want awakinings to be selected at the start of a battle but only in free battle. It sucks that you get like 15 seconds to use your awakinigs, or get alonger period of time in awakining state.

thing dont like naruto dont give u lot space to fight map are too lil need make bigger like DBZ

  • Anonymous

    u dont make sense

  • Anonymous

that’s what makes it balanced, the fact that Ino does the same as a lariat. If a Lariat took out a full health bar and ino’s kick took out half of one, then who would ever be Ino. It needs to be balanced for online. Need I remind you how much it sucks to get spammed by deidara, or by sage naruto, they’re overpowerd

As GamesCom nears let’s hope that we see something new from this game. If memory serves, last year’s GamesCom had several playable characters – between 6 & 8 – so let’s hope we get the same again. I’d also really like to see some improved gameplay. So far all we’ve seen are new and old characters running off the UNS2 engine, and even though it’s only been about a month or so since E3, I’d like to know that they are making some changes to the in-game engine or at least bringing back some features of UNS1.
