One Piece: Pirate Warriors Features 1-2 Players Online (Rumor)

It’s only February 12, but it looks like some lucky person may have already gotten One Piece: Pirate Warriors (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou)! A Japanese blogger has released the back cover art for the up-coming Japanese version of One Piece: Pirate Warriors. Take this with a grain of salt because we’re not entirely sure if this is real. You may even want to call it a rumor since fans can get pretty creative with these things! If it is indeed true, however, then it looks like 1-2 players can play One Piece: Pirate Warriors online! Additionally, the blogger mentions there will be voice chat and the back cover has “4400MB” next to “HDD” meaning that the game will probably be a 4 GB install.

Now you may be wondering if the online is co-op, 1-on-1, fighting, or tag team. At this time we’re unsure as there hasn’t been any information revealed on that. Again though, take all this online talk and the picture of the back cover art as rumor for now. We don’t recall seeing any official word on this.

Unrelated to online – One Piece: Pirate Warriors will have a mode called Main Log and another called Another Log. Main Log will follow Luffy through the original One Piece story we all know and love. Another Log will put characters in the place of other characters such as Zoro, Chopper, Hancock, and Ace.

One Piece PS3, One Piece: Pirate Warriors (or One Piece: Kaizoku Musou in Japanese), is the first One Piece game on the Sony PlayStation 3. It will cover One Piece Part 1 as well as some of the story contents of the One Piece timeskip. The game is in development by Omega Force and will be published by Namco Bandai Games and Tecmo Koei in Japan on March 1, 2012. A European and North American release are possible based on trademark filings by Namco Bandai, but no official word has been released.

If this is real it’s probably a reviewer who has a copy, I doubt anyone could have a retail copy of the game over 2 weeks before the game is released =/

If/when this game come out (in english version) and doesn’t have online mode (1vs1 etc…) there is no way i am getting this game, because i have been waiting one piece game on PS3 for a long time and not having an online mode would just be MAJOR DISAPOINTEMENT for me.

It probably means for sale and distribution in Japan only, rather than “can only be played on Japanese Ps3″

They wouldn’t remove the online mode if the Japanese version has it, but still, not buying a game as good looking as this just because it doesn’t have online is kinda silly.

If the game is like the other ”Warriors” games, then it will most probably have co-op offline. since online-play is very good these days, online like co-op should be no problem ether.

If there is any type of multiplayer it will be co-op, dynasty warriors games don’t have vs.

I may be wrong but console exclusive games usually go upto 1080p resolution, while dual console games generally remain at 720p, but on the back it says it only goes to 720p and this is a ps3 exclusive isn’t it?

I can read some Japanese, and it definitely says “onrain 1-2″. Onrain is katakana meaning online.

Also before that says “pureiyaa (something) 1-2″ Pureiyaa means player, so it is definitely two player. (although that part is easy to figure out)

uhhh….why does it say for japan only??

  • http://twitter.com/Mark_Currie Mark Currie

Like I said below, it probably just means it’s only to be sold within Japan, and not to be distributed to stores in other countries to sell. If you’re importing you’re technically buying from Japan so it doesn’t matter.

yoo but isn’t this coming to north america nd europe??? they filed a trademark for those two regions!!!

  • http://twitter.com/Mark_Currie Mark Currie

That doesn’t mean they’re definitely confirmed for release there. Besides, it’s not saying “This game will only ever be available in Japan and nowhere else”, the back of most game boxes probably say something like “Not to be sold outside of US”. This is just the same thing.

It is, But the Japanese copies aren’t supposed to be sold outside of Japan. Like by non-japanese wholesellers. Like someone else said if you import you’re buying it from Japan.
