This looks like I’m watching Generations all over again considering that they brought back the sub bars and still have extremely short ultimate jutsus. I’m sorry to say this but aside from the giant boss battles this game a’int looking too well for me yet, but hopefully they will show something worthwhile eventually I mean this game doesn’t come out until next Spring!

Well it is broke so they should fix it, there’s just about as much spammers from Storm 2 as there are on Generations. If they just kept the gameplay the same as Storm 1 then there wouldn’t be any complaining to begin with.

There will always be people to find personal fault with gameplay. It may not be perfect, but it is certainly better. People spam so much less in Generations. Also, you have to think about what long jutsus would be like in online mode. They look way overpowered first of all, I mean when was the last time that young Ino could create monumental explosions with flowers. The big reason they’re bad though is that the length interrupts quick-paced gameplay. The toned down ones are more realistic and are better for online.

I personally liked it better in the classic ultimate ninjas when you actually had a way out of the Ultimate Jutsus which would have easily helped to stop the UJ spammers if they were to encounter a person that can press the button commands much faster than them.

Figuring out who the best characters are to do so is half the fun. I get so much joy when I beat for example Deidara or Sage Naruto when he goes all six-tailed. As far as I’m concerned, UJ spamming is pretty much the least overused spamming techniques in the game. I don’t need to argue though because they won’t change it back.

They did really well with some of the new ultimates in generations showing its the design that determines whether the flow of combat is retained, not the time scale (certain very short ones broke the flow due to their cheap design), plus the longer times ( only longer by a few seconds) is somewhat justified by you having an active role in the process adding another gameplay element. Plus if they set it so that those who quit online suffer a loss(makes sense as its a forfeit) and allow the ultimate scene to continue despite the other player leaving the match, just for the enjoyment(e.g the scene where characters do a victory pose after a win remains for one person even after the person leaves the match).

long ultimates will never return as long as storm has online. it’s not practical (long, button prompting cinematics cause connection issues like in Ult. Tenkaichi) and it slows the flow of games.

i just realized the cinematic scene they had in this video is similar to storm 2′s sasuke vs itachi cinematic scene, when you threw chakra shuriken, itachi also through some causing cinematic shuriken tossing battle, for this one if you chakra dash towards masked man he does the same causing that epic rasengan scene

No they didn’t. It’s story mode and that wasn’t Minato’s ultimate. You can see Minato’s real ultimate at 1:05.

Had PS2 and playing the ultinate ninja games my x button stopped working on one controller and the square on the other rnot to mention when Xbox 360 butoons are pressed to many times they become e0very ressistent when tryin to press them.

Why waste time on new combos when the ones we have now are perfectly fine. I’d focus more on new characters’ combos then old ones. Some can change, but the majority are fine. Also, you get characters like Ino and what other new combos can you possibly make? I mean, she kicks and does her mind transfer and throws a few flowers. That’s about it! Different combos would be pointless for her…

yeah her combos are fine and can be dramatic and normal, but for people like sakura I feel she is neglected they haven’t even given her another suit, let alone a new a new jutsu or a new ultimate she should efintely get a new moveset and I can’t strees enough how much konan must get everything new, but if they don’t get new ultimates (all characters) ill be disapointed

You can’t call blocking or or substituting a spam .its only right to do it if you can and there was a linit It consumed chahra so it was exactly the same as generation but yoo got 6 or 7 subs instead of four so the only way to make both sides happy is to make a sub recharge button so people have to choose between subs and chakra, and gaurding had its linits witht the gaurd breaking system

Well what I’m hoping for is that Nagato is made a playable character. The version when Nagato fought Naruto, Killer Bee, and Itachi. He would have all of the six paths of pain’s abilities in just his own body. His ultimate would be the planetary devastation. There’s potential for him to have a great move set.

Btw, someone on Gfaqs wrote this about certain new additions:

1 ) The demo featured the Sub bar during the minato boss fight with 4 Subs like in Generations ( Each subs is represented by a log. on the bar ).

2 ) Minato gets one move when he’s awakened, L1 & R1 each with a different cooldown.Press one of them and Minato trows a Kunai, if its connects he rasengan his opponent from above like in the manga.

3 ) Awakening is INSTANT. You heared me right. Awakening is instant. ( Press R3 to use Awakening. )

4 ) Awakening is not longer linked to your chakra bar, you can awaken regardless of your chakra bar when you’re low life.

5 ) And last you don’t get full chakra bar when Awakening is available. Yep you read that right.

well it hasn’t been confirmed yet if story mode is going to be like storm 1 or storm 2 (im assuming you all know the difference so im not going to bother to explain). the reason i heard as to why they changed storm 1 story mode to storm 2 story mode is because the transfer of the storm series to xbox. as everyone knows ps3 blue ray discs hold about 6 times as more memory as xbox discs. this is what i heard not sure if its true

im pretty surewhat people are mad about is ( at least i know i am) the difficulty downgrade of substitutions. bars have nothing to do with it. Limited substitution? ok. idea is good but substitute ANYTHING ? even when you mess up real bad and you opponent clearly has a shot at you? you just press L2 and sub out of anything. it is wrong and reason people don’t use jutsus is because it just turns into a combo combo triangle, x , combo combo… etc after one of the characters runs out of sub bars. That is a broken system. I am not comlaining because i was losing or anything. my win to lose ratio is 33-4 online, but the fights were just unbearable.

I totally agree with You!!! Generations was ok ’cause it was like a “Compilation”. But Storm 3 need to be completely different in terms of move set/combos. If they recycle those combos again it will be like we are playing Storm 2 or Generations, and what is the point of doing a “new” game which is a copy of it’s predecessor! It will be the 3rd Storm game with the same characters move sets/combos!
