One Piece 67, Naruto 61 in Top 10 (Japanese Comic Rankings, July 30 to August 05)

One Piece Manga Volume 66 The 67th volume of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece hit Japanese retailers just last week on August 3, 2012. It broke first print records with 4.05 million copies of the manga being created!

The million dollar question is, how did it do in it’s first week in terms of sales? According to Japanese analytics company Oricon, One Piece 67 sold 1,754,309 copies! That’s 43% of the volumes that were printed! Very impressive when looking at it from an individual standpoint. However, it’s not One Piece’s best. Just comparing it with all of the New World chapters, it’s actually the lowest in terms of week one sales.

  • One Piece 66 – 2,275,453 (sold) || 4.0 million (printed)
  • One Piece 65 – 1,934,961 (sold) || 4.0 million (printed)
  • One Piece 64 – 2,018,366 (sold) || 4.0 million (printed)
  • One Piece 63 – 2,119,401 (sold) || 3.9 million (printed)
  • One Piece 62 – 2,367,582* (sold) || 3.8 million (printed)
  • One Piece 61 – 2,086,080 (sold) || 3.8 million (printed)

* Volume 62 went on sale Monday, May 2, 2011 officially, but retailers began selling it earlier. It sold 1,788,455 in it’s first official week and 579,127 before it’s release date for 2,367,582 total.

As for Naruto manga Volume 61, it sold a solid 847,826 copies in it’s first week and another 309,453 in it’s second week.
