Naruto Storm 3 to Feature Naruto vs the Nine Tails (Rumor)

Kyubi Chakra Mode! In the Naruto manga (and Shippuden anime) Naruto takes on the Nine Tailed Fox in order to obtain the fiery Tailed Beast Chakra Mode. A new rumor suggests Naruto Storm 3 will cover the epic battle between the two, with the help of Kushina! The rumor comes from the reliable TaleTaleSource Blog, which often correctly reveals the contents of the next Shonen Jump scan. While the rumor doesn’t say what type of battle this will be, we anticipate some kind of giant boss battle. Of course we will have to wait and see!

In other Storm 3 news, the team over at ShackNews had the chance to talk to to Jason Enos, senior global brand manager at Namco Bandai. Enos mentions “One of the focuses of [Naruto Storm 3] for developer CyberConnect2 is to bring the perfect balance of the manga and the anime.” He continues on to say “the anime is more lighthearted while the manga delves a little deeper and gets a little more serious.” Mr. Enos promises that “one of the goals this time around is to make sure manga fans feel more satisfied” by offering both “the cinematic and visual aspect of the anime” and also “the beautiful story development of the manga.”

We’re not sure if that means the game will go past the the anime or if it means just the canon content will be shown in Naruto Storm 3. We suspect the latter since games generally cover anime-only content, but we will have to wait and see!

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is Namco Bandai Games and CyberConnect2′s fourth entry in the Storm series. It will be available for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in Japan, North America, and Europe sometime Spring 2013.

    The way Jason Enos said “make sure manga fans feel more satisfied” (I’m so glad I decided to read the manga) makes me think that they may go to Tobi’s revealing as the ending and just maybe warn anime watchers that manga spoilers are beyond [insert point of anime at time of release here]. Perhaps the story ends where the anime is *a few episodes ahead* and include DLC as the anime progresses.

    lol. Those openings are as much of a disgrace as the pain vs 6 tails fight. But openings shouldn’t count as the anime itself. The only thing that was lighter in the anime was the shikamaru smoking scenes, the rest stayed pretty damn true to the manga, more-so than many other series.

    As a big fan of manga, i would like to be satisfied as much as i can;) However I can’t wait to see Uchiha MADARA Scan;) What do you think? And about scan, cool that naruto will fight kyuubi in order to obtain kyuubi chakra mode, my brother will be happy;) For me Madara and Sasuke hehe;)

    This game is looking very good so far, at first i thought CC2 were going to skip some Boss battle but now it doesn’t seem that way, since the game starts where Storm 2 ended. Well done CC2, i can’t wait to get this game :D

    Ok, I just did some calculations.. If the anime continues with canon episodes until April 17th 2013 (the most likely time CC2 will have their roster complete since the game is released in May) which is 32 episodes (assuming all of them will be canon) including today’s episode, we may have the New Naruto Form appear in the game. Narutoverse tells us which episodes coordinates with the chapters of the manga. It’s anywhere between 1-2 chapters on average, sometimes 3 chapters all in one episode. Taking that data and fast forwarding to April 17th 2013.. I can look at that data and tell where the anime may be when CC2 stops taking characters. 

    Based off of my conclusion.. The anime will be around chapter 571-593 around April 17th. Which is right around the time Naruto gets his Kyuubi Cloak Jacket when fighting Tobi and also where Sasuke revives Orochimaru and leaves with him. So within that time frame… we will have tons of new characters and almost everybody will have a completely new move set. Madara’s special/awakening will probably be Susano’o perfect from. And of course Naruto’s awakening will be The Kyuubi Cloak Jacket. Sasuke’s Special will definitely use EMS Susano’o powers. Kabuto will be able to use Sage mode. Dan will probably be playable. Raikage’s dad will be playable. Itachi’s new special will be Izanami. And my favorite bit of news… Nagato at full power will be playable, will the special of Planetary Devastation. The game may end where Sasuke leaves with Orochimaru until the final game NUNS 4. 

    You’ve heard from me first. Remember.. this is if the next 31 episodes are canon and no filler at all, or it could be set back. It would be nice if Saiyan Island took my calculations and made it into an article ;)

    I really do hope that even though the game continueing off from storm 2 that they still put all characters from the previous storms playable, including PTS.

    The first 2 are in the manga, so no reason to bring them up. The third is just a song, doesn’t really have anything to do with the actual content of the anime

    I would prefer they hold off on a release if it means we get more manga content, I want to play as Tobi unmasked, sasuke with EMS, fight madara and tobi at the same time, and whatever else is coming with Oro/Sasuke, Gedo Mazo, Kage’s revived? etc….  Would suck if it doesn’t finish this arc.  I’m guessing it will if its spring of next year, I just hope they go up to where the manga is and not where the anime is, but it’s usually the latter, so I would be fine for a later date for the anime to catch up.  Unless the anime starts dreaded fillers…

    another air boss battle between onoki and edo deidara
    team inoshikacho vs asuma/kakuzu and tobi and the gedo mazo
    edo itachi and edo nagato vs naruto and b
    gaara vs the ressurected kages
    the five kages vs edo madara and muu
    naruto and b vs tobi and the six jinchurik paths of pain
    naruto bijuu mode and b in his hachibi form going up against the six bijuu
    and hopefully sasuke and edo itachi vs sage mode kabuto
    and obito and madara vs bijuu naruto,kakashi gai and hachibi bee if the game will cover the war that far anyway

    they got so many boss battles they can put in the game, but i don’t see which one is gonna be the FINAL boss battle cause nothing is very conclusive until uchiha madara arrives and it seems unlikely the game will go all the way until then… i’m excited to see how epic it’ll all be

    I totally want naruto’s second kyuubi chakra mode. When he gets the chakra coat and the kyuubi and him co-op with eachother !
    they can have that as a awakening to a naruto char that is in fiery Tailed Beast Chakra Mode all the time just like they had six tails for sage naruto.

    Also chakra dash to the sides could be cool they allready have back and forth and air.

     those will most likely be battles like minato vs masked man a normal battle but with quick time events in them
    and i forgot about konan and tobi which will either be a boss battle or hust a regular fight with quick time events

    taletalesource is always right. So its confirmed that naruto will fight the nine tails!!
    This also means that we might get to see a new naruto who is in kcm and fully playable as a regular character!

    This boss battle is probably going to be one of the best because the other nine tails boss battle with the third hokage is so fluid. By fluid, I meant that you can actually do a big attack with it being a cutscene. This means naruto is going to be in sage made running around and jumping off walls and calling kushina for support and throwing RASENSHURIKENS! And you get to do that all on your own which is BEAST!

     she might be i think she’ll be involved in the boss battle cause in the hokage vs kyubbi boss you could use the R1 and L1 buttons to call for help from the leaf shinobi so maybe you can use kushina in that way

    For some reason, i think that this battle and “Kyuubi vs 3rd Hokage” are the same, or atleast connected, cuz in the Anime (and also in the Manga), when “Kyuubi vs 3rd Hokage” was showed, “Naruto vs Kyuubi” was already happening…it was actually a flashback. Maybe the Battle between the 3rd and the Fox, then between Minato and Tobi will appear in the middle of Naruto vs Kyuubi in the game, depicting the flashback moment; then after that, it will go back to the original, with Kushina helping (dunno how though, but it might have something to do with her chains)…And before someone says that it’s not possible, remember: In Storm 2, in the middle of the “Naruto vs Sasuke” Boss Battle, for some seconds, it was possible to play as PTS Naruto against PTS Sasuke in the Valley of the End (you know, “that moment”).

    Unfortunately, the anime is going to have 2 more fillers. However. the filler they are showing “could” be counted as canon. I noticed in the manga that they put the focus on Naruto and real fights. Maybe they are trying to fill the gaps as to what others were doing during the focus on Naruto rather than showing Naruto all the time. 

    If it won’t count as canon then it will only be set back by 3 chapters which isn’t much. Not to mention that the anime may close the gap on some some chapters. Such as the Itachi and Kabuto fight. Most fights are 2-3 episodes in the anime. The manga showed about 7 chapters and I’m sure they will merge Kabuto’s lame past into one episode. so It’s all good. As long as they dont start a whole new season of filler it should be okay. Plus… April 17th isn’t a canon date, it could be longer before they stop taking characters, which leaves time for a few episodes of filler if that’s the case.

    So even still, I think we’ll make it to at least 593. But I’m hoping for 600. I think it would be better to stop the game after Naruto breaks Obito’s mask.
