Naruto Storm 3: CC2 Talks Jutsu Clashes, Multiple Awakenings

i think saiyanisland misunderstood multiple awakenings. i think what cc2 means is that characters that are known to have more than 1 awakening like form in the show will be in the game but as two separate characters (this is no different from what they have been doing, 3 naruto’s each containing their own awakening, 3 sasuke’s, etc). so basically what im saying is that there are no new features mentioned in this interview. i may be wrong though

 agreed all the way. what a waste pf a scan and time. hopefully the info namco promised us this month wont disappoint.

yeah im not expecting anything big either. storymode will be memorable no doubt, but there’s nothing telling me to buy this. the info drout is sickening, we don’t even know if the 7 swordsmen are playable or not. tbh, we haven’t gotten anything really new in forever. while i understand that the game is due early next year, i cant hep to feel disappointed how cc2 has been treating us with this info. especially me ( following the scans since storm 2) its painful to sit through. so far storm 3 is sounding like storm 2.5 and 1/2. im not trying to sound impatient or negative, but that’s how i currently feel. these constant same news has to stop. its getting old.

What incentive do we have to buy this game? The gameplay hasn’t changed much, Hack N Slash is old news and overused, story mode will not be longer then 10-15 hours, and the lack of confirmed characters is hilarious. 

They added one new special technique for awakenings only. REALLY? That is the extent of the new gameplay additions? This is priceless indeed.

So far, Gen looks like it added more relevant content. And it was mostly copy & paste, lmao.

When I saw “Multiple Awakenings” I misunderstood and confused it w/ naruto SD:Powerful Shippuden.
You kno how Naruto can switch from Regular–>Sage Mode–>Regular–>KCM
That would be amazing, it would keep me in the Hack’N'Slash mode for the longest, thats for sure.
And for the Justsu Clashes…. I made sure not to get my hopes up

Multiple awakenings can be KillerBee version 2/bijuu form, Kakashi sharingan/mangekyou sharingan. Itachi Susano/ Tsukiyomi etc more then 2 characters can have several awakens

Come CC2 announce something new at least this repetition is getting really old really fast. I mean seriously they have only officially announced 3 new characters just us tell something actually new once in a while. 

LOL, I’ve been right so far, haven’t I? Base probabilities on history (all Storm games had short story modes), it might help you out with your future. Developers rarely change, after all, unless it’s for the worse. ^_^

It seems everyone else is finally getting it. A few new characters, a gimmicky story, and a single new gameplay option is all we can hope for.

Everyone here who has had their hopes crushed, has no desire to purchase the game anymore, has little hope in what future news will bring, I feel ya. THIS is how I and others felt who followed first Storm 2, then Generations, and now know better.

I know I sound pessimistic, but I’m just a realist. History is there to teach us that it will repeat itself. Don’t get your hopes up and maybe you can salvage your anticipation. I know I still have some, I just don’t lie to myself and assume everything that should be in the game, will be in the game.

I have been following since storm 2 as well. That’s how I know to expect things like this unfortunately.

really guys, jutsu clashes would be a terrible thing.  it worked okay in storm 1, but think about generations mechanics with jutsu clashes. it would happen CONSTANTLY and get annoying really fast.

jutsu clashes would be lame cuz:
1. in storm 2 they added enhanced jutus and characters like kakashi would be able to clash only with his basic jutu and characters like minato would be able to clash with both jutus.
2.only 18 the characters have clashable jutuus

i want to run in Konoha like in Storm 1 i want to jump and run in Konoha like storm 1 hope they do that not like storm 2 that was boring for me :/   but the boss battles was great !. I want  for the campagne only that we can run free in Konoha like in Storm 1 ^^

lol people say cc2 listens to the fans right? ha yeah right people have been asking clashes and guess what there are non. now i’m not really too bothered about it and i mostly play online (mostly since its easy offline) but they should put clashes,wall fight etc for offline only at least. cc2 has tbh cheated the hardcore offline gamers which they imo didn’t deserve. i’m sorry if someone doesn’t like this comment but this is how i feel. they took out great features from storm 1 all because of one game mode called online where the spammers live. most of my losses are me getting my ass kicked by the spammers lol so i think offline should come first because at the end of the day this won’t be the last storm game and it won’t even be the last naruto game i can guarantee you that since they are making money of these games and can return to 2d naruto games if they want which i bet you they will.

You want to know why people liked those things? Because most of them just watch youtube videos of storm one and NEVER got to play it to have an idea why it was removed from the game. When I played Storm 1, clashes happened once, if not twice, every other battle, so quite often (And I wasn’t trying to clash).

I thought the wall fighting was awesome,it was a little awkward but they can improve on that.
If people complain about them, they could set an option to turn those features off.
That would make the perfect Storm game!

He said he’s not focusing on free roam.
He said that they will work like Boss Battle button inputs.
He didn’t say Story Mode only.

What I read was:
Jutsu Clashes will be in and you will have to input a combination of buttons to win it and Free Roam will be in but it won’t be spectacular.

Agreed.  I admit, I definitely miss the long ultimates from Storm 1, but i’ve come to terms that that feature is long gone and will probably never be resurrected.  I don’t see why all the others cant get their heads out of their a$$es and accept the truth.  It certainly didn’t stop me from getting the other 2 storm games and won’t stop me from getting this one.

It’s all about interpretation. I’ve read that specific section a few times over now and its hard to distinguish which interpretation is more accurate. I’m personally leaning more towards jutsu clashing NOT being in free battle mode and only in story mode – because I feel that if clashing were in Matsuyama would have just stated that you will be using button prompts rather than button mashing.

You’re first point isn’t really a reason.  Just because a character is canon doesn’t make him a guarantee and same goes for noncanon characters(a la Lars in Storm 2 or Doto back in UN2).  And for your second point, the scan wasn’t necessarily referring to non-story mode.  They’re confirmed for the hack and slash feature of the game.  Not that I don’t want them to be playable.  But I doubt that they will be.  Maybe we’ll get lucky and get one or two of the swordsmen but I feel as though CC2 sees potential only in them as characters in free battle.  Oh and speaking of CC2, I’m sure they’ve dealt with their fair share of haters and hate mail along the naruto years.

I think jutsu clashes are confirmed for free-battle mode, and will work like the quick-time events from the boss battle in storm 2. The reason they wouldn’t make it a button mashing O is because of turbo controllers. So really, I think maybe it was just misinterpret. 

Matsuyama should have been a bit clearer in answering that question about jutsu clashing. As far as I can tell no one know’s exactly what he meant when he said ”The jutsu clashing using button inputs that can be seen in the single player boss battles of storm 2 exists in this game”. Is he saying clashes are only in story mode, or that if clashes are included, they will be performed using button prompts? Thats a rhetorical question by the way. Only person I wan’t answering that question is Matsuyama himself.

There is no interpretation. It’s clearly stated, and until there is SOLID proof to the contrary (that the interview was mistranslated or misinterpreted) THIS ARTICLE IS FACT.

I think Naruto games are pretty controversile. But the truth is there arent many developers who could do better than CC2 on Naruto games(I mean the ones willing to accept the job). I mean naruto is far from anything like MK or Street Fighter. I kinda like it casual.  Truth is and this is the honest truth, if you care about some super badass fighter, hate cheapness, like to play hardcore, and care deeply for gameplay stick to other fighters. Naruto is a game built to relive the naruto story. Story! Key word there. But you would be right in saying a few tweaks are needed. But the truth is most Naruto fans are satified with the addition of new characters and story. So CC2 doesn’t have a reason to change anything. 1.3 million copies on gen. Even if you hated the game you still bought it. And CC2 thinks that you liked it because you bought it.

Naruto is an Anime and Street Fighter isnt. They are different for this reason.

If they think the Repetitive mashing of the o button is any sort of reason to not have clashes (Which it isn’t), then just replace it with the goddamn multiple input one.

Lol the game needed sub bars to get rid of turo controllers and people who guardjump, they fixed this because of faggots online. this was generations (still an awfull, broken ass game with good intensions (only a tiny part of the team worked on it, rather fast)) 
So Storm 3 is in prodution for 2 1/2 years now, from the BIG team of CC2 is working on it.

Stuff like clashes, multiple awakenings, wall fighting, free-roam, etc. are all just gimmicks. I get a lot of you enjoy this stuff, but at the end of the day they don’t add much to the actual balancing and fairness of the game. 

What extends the life of a game is online play, so what I’m looking for are mechanics changes to balance things. They have yet to do this despite what they tried with Generations, and based on demos they haven’t changed anything.

This is why I am disappointed, not because of this. I expected this, and honestly after 3 games dealing with CC2, so should of most of you.

WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE HATE COMMENTS?? Didn’t you see the trailer or the Minato vs Kyuubi cutscene? The graphics looked awesome and they clearly HAVE improved the  story mode and the cutscenes!! STOP COMPLAINING!

No, I will not acknowledge that possibility. You are reading too much into the wording of the article. There is no reason to address the question at all if he meant to be that ambiguous, unless he answered “we cannot reveal game specifics at this time” like he has in the past. 

First, he used the wrong choice of words instead of being more specific by saying “story mode.” Second, it transitioned from Japanese to English. Things get lost when translating.

Sooo, basically, some boss battles like naruto vs. sasuke will have clashes in the quicktime scenes . But no real-time free battle jutsu clashes, unless the secret factor has something to do with that . Nothing new, exactly the same as storm 2 .

 i was thinking for example a rasengan almost hits u and then you can grab there hand and pull the rasengan into the floor or a chidori tries to hit u and then u grab the wrist and the chidori disappear like what itachi did to saskue

Thank you, finally someone with some brains lol. I’m sure alot of us are getting tired of seeing people complaining about CC2 not implementing their suggestions and the characters not having 5 jutsus or they character creation.

All I really expect is new characters. That’s how CC2 works and that’s what we’ll probably get till the next series.

so ya i dont know about you guys but im getting kinda sick of getting the same bullsh*t instead of actual *NEW* news. its been like what 4 months or so since they announced this game and have only confirmed 3 new characters and h&s as new news. tell us more *NEW* information. stop giving us the same old horsesh*t! -_-

Yep, so I suggest you decide whether that is worth buying or not. A few more characters, Hack N Slash, and maybe a couple other things, that’s it. Sad but true.

Really, I dont care about the sub system. It seems they added a extra bar and two small ones. Just learn how to defend yourself when you run out. What matters is that they fix the blocking. When you sub out of peoples combos they can instantly dash at you not given you time to block or react.

And they also need to fix the subing to where you’re not getting hit twice by attacks like Almighty Push.

And they need to make sure that Madara is playable and Rin/Shar Tobi…and black zetsu and white Zetsu.

Oh and some characters need new jutsu…and combos.
 
-Itachi: combos suck, or at least his initial attack. His initial attack is slow and its reach is horrible.

-Stop giving puppets these cheap ass tilts! and fix Chiyo’s stun combo
 
-Orochimaru: His UJ is powerful but still needs a change…its getting old.
 
-All of Naruto’s rasengans do not need to cause a knock back.
 
-Get rid of frenzy pill.
 
-Zabuza’s and Suigetsu’s Water dragon jutsu has to much tracking.

-Why is Part 1 Shino better than Shippuden Shino?

I really hope they don’t end up making multiple characters for the same character and count it as a separate character. I have a feeling there are going to be a few that are the same but different combo, Probably a few people for the war. I think it should be the same character but you can pick what combos you want them to have and awakening for some, as well as jutsu and ultimate its not really that hard of a concept. Oh and costumes as well. This would make it so there was once again only one character for each, well other than actual age different with time skips.
Its not hard to Go “ok I want to play as Sasuke, in his Akatsuki cloak but I want him to have Susanoo combo, but Kirin as his Ultimate.” This is what Ultimate ninja used to be about, customizing your ninja.

I pretty sure they won’t,because they have started to suck big time right now,we have been asking for so many things since storm 2 but they won’t put them in,and the excuse all the time is online battles,which I don’t give a F@$k about,well I am just gonna rent the game,that’s all there is to it,its not gonna be a worthy buy for me that’s my opinion,there are way to many good games which are better and are gonna release roughly around the same time as this,I’ll rather save up on money and buy them instead of this,and this is coming from a die hard fan of Naruto.

I honestly agree, I liked the old UN series they got better each one, well I didn’t care for 4 as much as 3 and 5 looked really good but didn’t come to the States. but it seemed like they were actually developing the games better then. Now they think just because there is online and lots of characters that these are better. Granted I like the fighting mechanics a lot better but as for the Story and the Lack of development over the years its not progressing as it should if they actually cared.
The fans want a huge 3d world to explore well that’s not really that hard to give them. I honestly can wait for the Story mode till the series is Over I would love to play from start to finish in a very long and well developed story that makes you explore the large world of Naruto. I like that part of the game more than Online that gives it more play value.

The gameplay isn’t broken. It’s exactly how fighter games are. And this isn’t even a fighters game really, it’s more rpg. And if the game has nothing good, how come over a million people are anticipating it? Also, explain how the game has no skill. And please I’m 19, not a kid retard.

That’s kind of a generalization.  Not ALL characters that fought in the naruto manga will be put in a video game.  We know that the 7 swordsmen will be in at least the story mode of the game.  Hopefully, they’ll also be playable in free battle.  I honestly don’t think that they will be and believe that they will only be bosses in the story mode because specializing 7 characters that hardly fought in the manga with random noncanon combos, jutsus, and ultimates, will probably not happen.  I hope I am wrong though.

 It’s probably because there wouldn’t really be much of a power shift if you could hit them with all of your combos, grabs, ultimates, or jutsus.

 Seriously. Clashes and wall running aren’t even worth all of the complaints. The people will be happy that clashes and wall running are in the game for five days, and then they’ll realize that it wasn’t even a crucial part of the game. Hell, they may even realize that it just makes fights more annoying.

 I didn’t even read all of your comment. There is a difference between NUNS and COD. For one, COD barely changes. You can compare one installment’s gameplay to another and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. With this, you would be comparing Storm 2 to Storm 3, in this case, since Generations doesn’t count as a full installment. They changed several noticeable things which would directly have a impact on the gameplay.
They’re adding new characters, new costumes for characters, they’re changing the awakening system almost completely, and they even said something about adding a new mode. These are all things that I would expect from a sequel. I wouldn’t expect anyone to completely redesign the playable characters for the sequel, especially in something based on an anime. The characters don’t change much in the anime. Most of them, like Sakura, Neji, Lee, etc, don’t suddenly get a different style of fighting halfway through the series. Giving these characters new movesets would be completely stupid, unless the character physically needed a new moveset. None of the characters, except for Chiyo really, need a new moveset. Honestly, though, they could cut Chiyo out of the game for all I care. It wouldn’t bother me at all.
Anyway, I love the Storm series. Anyone who complains usually just seems like a person who hates the games because their ideas, no matter how pointless or stupid they may seem, never get implemented into the games.

 I kinda do want more health, though. I’d prefer it if the fights were slightly more drawn out. It would give them more of a chance to get interesting.

I’m almost positive they did something like that before. In some Naruto game, I’m almost positive that they included the First Hokage and the Second Hokage as support characters for Orochimaru during a fight. Neither of them were playable. If it’s Storm 1 that I’m thinking of, then the characters weren’t added until the DLC was released, so it’s essentially the same thing.

They should have made the game’s story mode different in which you could chose to play it in a free roam style, or in the battle style, with each style different, thus allowing the player to play the game again and again, with a different outcome every time. It would have been far better in my opinion.
