Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods – New Scan, Two Movie Exclusive Character Names Revealed

Lol, thinking a Rabbit like creature isn’t a god of destruction. Um, Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo, anyone?

Don’t judge a book by its cover.  Just cause he looks like that now doesn’t mean he’ll look like that in the end.  It doesn’t even mean he’s the main villain.

How are you gonna say that a character in a Universe that you didn’t create is “not” what it looks like?It’s a Jackal not a rabbit -_- Thats what anubis looks like,it’s in Toriyama’s style.

All that people saying “this rabbit doesn’t look not strong enough” are nothing but stupids. How can something like 
that create such a big deal? Does Majin Boo looks strong? No ¿right,? but he is the strongest enemy from the manga and the anime. And you are complaining because a character looks like an animal? Please!

By the way, the looks of this enemy is so much like Toriyama’s style. Dragon Ball, specifically the original one, the first one, had a lot of personifies animals, and that kind of stuff are pretty normal in the series. Also, the series is pretty colorful about their characters (again, Majin Boo, also Cell, Freezer and all the enemys from the movies) so theres really nothing strange about this anubis-like character. Following the classic way of the series, this enemy,- being the last one- (at least from the canon) MUST be the strongest enemy ever, at least stronger than Majn Boo in his last transformation. So don’t complain about this character, it can be really great.

If you saw the series you must know it, thats why i cannot understand all this complain about this character. Sorry if my enlish is not good enough, but i really had to tell it o.ó

If you say it about the writing and the language, yes, i know it has a lot of mistakes and im trying to correct it as much as i can. Thank you.

point. The rabbit (also anubis) looks like one of the animals like
Toriyama used to draw that’s true. I’m not saying that is bad. I dont
believe a Jackal is a good character for the “god of destruction” when
you have a lot of chararcters that look far more evil than this. I’m not
saying this is going to be bad. BUT it could be better in that way and i
think almost any fan of dragon ball will feel a little bit more
impresed with a character with other… look.

People that call
other guys “Stupid” just because they have a different view of this
situation.. should think before writing something. because it’s not
about insulting each other. I believe there is a way to make “this” more
atractive and as a fan… i know what people wanted to see that it
wasnt done in the
serie because i’m one of them and i wish for the same thing.

Instead of calling me a “jerk” try to answer this.
What will you change to make this even better if you could?

So, did krillin go back to being a monk again? In the Majin Buu saga he had hair and the incense burns on his forehead disappeared, now he has shorter hair but you can see the incense burns.

Where is the source that says this is anubis just in toriyama’s style? I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there is no indication that this is anubis. In the bigger image, he looks like a rabbit, in the smaller image he looks more like a cat, both of these creatures do not represent anubis. Also, there is more than just anubis for an egyption god, infact, if you were to find out the egyption ‘God of Destruction’ you would see that it does not say anubis. So, until toriyama actually states that this is anubis, just in his own interpretation, it’s not anubis because all the clues point in the opposite direction.

Sorry for use that word. I didn’t want to offend you (not you specifically) and i know that insult people doesn’t work, but this complain about ¿Bills? bothers me a lot for the reasons i said in the post. I think its  really simple to complain for something like the look of a character, specifically of this series. I try to understand other’s opinion but sometimes its difficult, even more when people create  a bad idea or a bad disposition about something (in this case the movie, which we should hope with a little more of confidence, i think)

For what you say about other creations, draws and other DB stuff, i understand if you and many people like it, and being honest, i think that even i really love DB and its a great series, its not perfect and tends to be repetitive, thats why so many people do their own creation. 

But the point is no matter what movie, OVA,  saga, etc, appears, fans don’t approve them. They always have something to complain about. I understand it because many of them are just too commercial and pointless (like the 2008 OVA), but THIS movie is a very different issue (based in the information we have): its original, its canon, its made by Toriyama…i mean,let have some respect and confidence in it. It will be the first time Toriyama get involved in a series production, so there is a lot to be happier about than disappointed, and the only fact that this is canon, is, at least for me, enough to be happy. Im aware that the movie could end up being disappoiting xD but even like that it will be an original movie, and not an illusion created by fans.

 We must let some legends rest in peace and don’t touch them anymore, and maybe with Dragon Ball is the same: fans cannot let it go, but they  neither can accept any other sequel if it is not what they hope (that is how i see it)

And that is why i see no reason to be disappoited with the character; despite his looks, he probably will offer such a good battle like the previews enemys. It will probably similar to what we have seen from the anime and the manga.

Don’t like gohan having SSJ still, it’s very clear that it’s a “sign” that he’ll will get his behind whooped dramatically even thou he’s the strongest… unless this 10yr gap means goku SSJ3 will be superior than gohan.

First Off Frieza looks awesome and his design fits perfect for his personality, secondly he’s an alien so I don’t see how “gay” someone can look if they don’t even look human, it’s not like he’s wearing a bra. 

thirdly all the main villains looked intimidating and evil, fat buu does not count because it’s not his true form, I don’t care if this is “anubis” it looks like a alien with rabbit ears, he looks like he belongs in one of those “fillers” wear goku fought in a tournament against weird retarded aliens OR one of those weaker magical non threatening villains in dragon ball, but in Z they actually look like an threat..Which I honestly believe that’s where this rabbit belongs. (this is why most people hate fat jenemba) . 

 it’s hard to explain, but it looks like something vegeta would constantly make fun of just by it’s appearance and then laugh even harder when he finds out it’s one of the strongest beings in the universe. and lastly theirs a rumor that this movie is considered “Canon” for reasons Idk, but it is, meaning that this will actually  have effect to the conclusion of Z. so sadly we’ll have to accept this rabbit joke and gohan’s SSJ  as canon.

Let’s just wait for the official trailer or somethin’ BEFORE we pass judgment or make useless assumptions… XP

Yes… yes it does need Toriyama’s approval. This movie is being worked on by him, so it is canon (even he stated the same). Anything he had no or little hand in writing is not a part of the DB canon universe, only the “extended” universe. It’s there for fun, nothing more.

DB and DBZ came from the same manga, only the anime series were split into two (like Naruto and Shippuden). The design differences are just coincidence (and biases based on the fact that most outside of Japan fans were introduced to DBZ first).

Being impatient (at present) and passing judgment on the villains designs for no reason (and WITHOUT solid evidence to back it up ie: it’ll suck and looks weird) is a serious waste of time -.-

The movie has been confirmed as being canon and the time frame has also being revealed (occurs between 513-514) so I really don’t understand the denial by some people LOL

Anyone who mentions “GT” doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously. Not canon, not part of the real storyline, does not count, how many ways must I say this?

Wow you know nothing of the DB series or Toriyama. Toriyama is actually working on this movie him self,Toriyama is the creator of the series so anything dealing with DB & Dbz needs his approval. 

This is actually Akira Toriyama’s apprentice Ooishi Naho’s art, but Akira Toriyama is making the story for this movie

Ugh… so you you’re saying you are a fan of Shonen Jump’s interference in the DBZ portion of DB, not Toriyama’s DB universe (not understanding)? 

I’m a fan of the whole thing, and I’m a fan of the creator not the corporate greeds who dictated he change his designs to suit them and DBZ’s growing popularity. Sorry, a creator of something doesn’t deserve to be undercut like he was when his “designs” and story telling were the reason it became popular in the first place.
