Naruto Storm 3 – Supports Have Health Issues, Direct Footage

Very cool, CC2 is finally making the Storm series more realistic. And supports can’t be spammed now. No 1st, 2nd, or 3rd by the way.

You clearly haven’t played Generations online if you don’t know that anything can be spammed. People spam supports by not using them how they’re supposed to be used.

the new awakening mode seems kinda overpowered since you go into it and get out when you want . Which means that when the opponent has no more subs you go awakening mode but when you have no more you can just get out so your allies can save you but with the old awakening mode you were stuck with no subs in awakening mode which made you think twice before going into rage mode.

Not that much; since enemies can grab and use ultimate jutsus on you it’s much more balanced now.

yeah but for the old ones too. If the old ones didnt get affected by grabs and ultimate then it would be fair. but now both can get hit by everything. So the new mode still seems a lot stronger than the old mode.

They should just take out the support system completely.

Yes now i have a reason to hit supports to bad the strike back can now be blocked but whatever altough it helps with combis it can be annoying toi get hit with. plus they die and stay on the field yes generations already made the supports feel like they are for real there and storm 3 is gonna make them die yes!

When I first saw the video I wondered about that too. Upon viewing the video again though, I was able to see that an button prompt swiftly appears that lets you decide if you want to take the hit or have the def support take it.

If you look carefully around 1:01 the option for extra hit (l1) or support chance (r1) appear. The player in the videos above must’ve been mashing r1, which is why the prompt never showed.

If you don’t press anything you’ll probably just take the hit as usual.

I don’t really have a problem.  In fact, that is exactly how I play.  I just was never too fond of facing the same support characters every time in online battle just because they give them the opposing player an advantage.  I feel that they retract from the skill of the player. Also, unless I’m mistaken, there is no option to play without them online.

LMAO, the support staying on the field when dead is priceless.

Now I’m excited. I’m seeing some interesting NEW features added to the battle system. Whether they work or not is a different story, but now I’m actually hyped to see how practical they are.

Also, their health bar probably gets depleted when you get ringed out and saved by a support. So it may just be automatic rather then having to save the support just for that.

True, but you’re also forgetting that you as a player have the advantage of supports as well. You can c.dash, deploy a support to bait there’s, or even just simply guard as you know what they are planning, giving you the support advantage. It helps being aggressive as well as defensive, you just have to strategize a bit more as opposed to without supports.

im sure that this fight will be in as a boss battle since it was important in the storyline  

That Minato v Mifune was nice. The support system is improving,that’s good but I really would like to see some new characters besides Mifune, Hanzo, and Darui lol. As beastly as they are, it’s tiring seeing them over and over, but I do understand that this is the demo. Also, I’m really liking the new HUD and the artwork for the characters photos,because they have a more serious look to them. In Generations it was ok but this is better to me.

Really good idea, it’s an easy way to get rid of Hidan and invasive supports who spoils the game most of the time. I love the variety and the different ways a battle can turn into. Can’t wait to see the features which have yet to be revealed

this is also goes to show you that this stops the spammers too and the guard breaks too though.

The more details come out about this game the more in depth and complex (in a good way) the combat becomes. Now you have to manage your support and the way you awaken, I believe in CC2 and am both excited and a little nervous of what will be revealed next. 

I completely agree, we’ve needed a 3rd bar for a while now but with all these features added it has become even more apparent.

We need to start a SI petition so Cc2 can hear our plea 3 bars of health. I think if we all can agree on it then we’ll be heard. come on ppl. 3 HEALTH BARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just realized, guard support was annoying as hell in Generations when c.dashing. Now when a guard support comes down to break a c.dash they might lose health since they are technically being hit. I hope that’s the case.

This is just a demo with one stage and a few new support features, and already this looks more fun then generations (in my opinion). Maybe it’s because these players actually know what they’re doing, because I wasn’t this impressed after watching NYCC or London mcm off screen gameplay.

My hopes for this game have been slightly reassured, and I am now very anxious to see how the ringouts and stage damage make a transition into the gameplay; and I’m sure that’s not all. Keep it up NSUNStormCommunity, you’re making this game look good.

-Side Note- I’ve never really considered extra health bars but with the new support features it may be necessary if you want to live long enough to kill off opponents support characters.

Man I totally agreement and that’s all I wanted instead of having to do complete combo to see they’re other jutsu. I was thinking the L3 should be used to switch since it has no use now. At first I was saying clicking the right stick to switch the elements and each element would have its own jutsu and UJ tilts combos but they use all them different directions for instant awakening when that should have been L3, or R3 pushing the stick in. Oh well. Still hope they find a way though without having to select only one before battle.

Hidan wasn’t brought back by that edo tension(reanimation jutsu). It wouldn’t make since to me if he’s in it. He was finished in storm 2.
Why storm 2 have Lars and not Kanohamoru? He did beat a pain in the anime. Come on man, they need to give him some props. Lars not even in Naruto. They should’ve added Ichigo, Doku and other Manga main characters.

 In response to their 2v2 Tekken Tag desire I thought of a possible solution that could work, especially since they have this new support damage feature.

In
one of the recent interviews it was mentioned that you guys considered
doing a TEKKEN TAG like system but felt it would be limiting. What if
you made it like this to work within your existing system:

1. Unlike TEKKEN TAG, both characters have to lose.

2.
Since every character has a throw/launching ability (usually combined
with attack support), you could make it so that a throw/launch switches
characters with a kick like the support attack.

3. The tagged out character is support while tagged out.
    The character that’s not fighting could take on all supporting roles:
   
Defense:
Any damage taken is actually taken (with half of it able to be healed
back while they’re tagged out), Dash Cut will weaken their defense that
doesn’t regenerate until tagged in.
   
Balance: Chakra Shuriken
actually uses their chakra (which regenerates on its own while out twice
as fast as being in). UJ Defense, takes damage, but half can get healed
back while tagged out.
   
Attack: Tag in on launch with kick, or air combo possibility. Functions like regular attack support mid combo at cost of chakra.

4. Could make R1/L1 a switch button as well that has a 10 – 15 sec cooldown.

5. Specific teams such as Ay and Bee, or Zabuza and Haku, Or Kakashi and Guy can get their own specific Team Ultimate Jutsu

within the games current parameters if implemented in this fashion !^_^!

Yeah ikr, i mean the real problem was the puppets, but if you are fast enough you can make it in time even before the supports spawn in front of them. I use taka sasuke so i get comments like “no way -,- wtf are you a hacker?” me: “nope” “BS!” “lol gg bro” “gg my ass” 

nvm then i just want it to be like hack n’ slash its the perfect screen and everything didn’t you guys see the seven swordsmen scan? i mean they have movesets and jutsus

 I like your idea, for number 4 you could do L1 for switch and R1 for support jutsu. that way you dont have to switch upon making your support do their jutsu. But they should make the switch fast so you could create better combos, like basically switching mid combo. It would work the best when your character stuns them or makes them bounce off the ground, you switch then you can follow up with whatever you want.

 I really hope they your idea in as this will accumulate to the new battle features we’ve seen so far and the remaining features yet to be shown. But theres a chance of no because theres only a few months left. With that said there may be bugs and glitches which they didn’t have time to fix. But they could just make us download an update for them right?

 imagine seeing the badass characters like that: Itachi, madara, obito(hopefully) etc… This game is getting me excited!

i just watched the xbox games, rise of a ninja, broken bond WOW man, why they stop doing it like that?! that storymode was amazing, beautiful graphics in like 2007. Okay that the fight technique was a little poor but pleasee ask for a story mode like storm 1 perhaps or the other 2 that i mentioned 

I like this but i can’t stop thinking in one thing: Attack supports can make epic combos and strike backs, Defensive supports can Prevent enemy dashes, strike backs and defend while you charge your chackra. Ok. And What about balance supports? _- True: You can send some poison kunais with kankuro and sometimes be safe from UJ, but JUST THIS? :/ Unfair.

The poor translating could make it end up being balance support. It’s happened in the past where “balance” was mistranslated to be “defense.”

If not, then yes, because balance support (other then TS Shikamaru/Gaara) was pretty useless in Generations.

Yes, you can clearly see them tilt cancel and NMC, and if you can NMC you can combo > Ult.

This is cool whoever is playing ACTUALLY Knows how to play and the new support system adds more strategic aspects to the game 

The problem is, now you’re waiting 10min before your fight in a 8-people tournament. With 3 bars, you would wait 20min. Online fights cannot last too long, but I agree on the fact that it could be optional.

They’re adding hidan He’s Akatsuki and they won’t remove pre existing characters to add new ones only the pts who were just for Generations

There should be an option in the settings that lets us change the number of health bars like in DBZ Budokai. up to five maybe????   Idk something like that.

 I absolutely love the support system update and all but I’m still kinda upset that I’m seeing the same Jutsu from Generations, except Hanzo,Mifune and Darui of course.

I don’t think it would be the same. It’s just a demo. We haven’t seen Sasuke’s Susano grab with chidori and a move Naruto did in the scan in his awakening. Although we do see some changes in Minato’s moves.

Regarding the jutsus, I was hoping for multiple jutsu. That’s why we are seeing the old ones. ^^

We still have to wait for 2 more upgrades. We already know the other 3. Awakening system, team system and ring-outs. I wonder what are the other 2 upgrades will be like?

I think what we really want is longer fights. They could go on with 2 bars but they should decrease the damage. I know they are limiting the fight in 60 seconds because of online issues. But in offline, I would very much enjoy longer fights. I usually change the time settings to infinite.

I think they should also change the handicap system. Instead of decreasing your damage input while increasing your opponent’s, why not decrease them both or increase it. Other games have done that. Also with Tekken, you could change your life capacity from 100-200% or even make them both 50%.

With a system like that, all of us can enjoy longer fights or even an instant death match. If we reduce our life to 5%, then the player who lands a hit first wins. Like Minato vs Tobi. That would be awesome.

I’m pretty sure the Minato player did it in the demo.

You’re absolutely correct, it’s way too big of a risk to leave him out. CC2 may seem a bit lazy at times, but they’re not stupid.

Yup! Me too. I think I’m going to like it. It’s awesome when things break in the background. Though saving you from ring out kills your support. Great anti-spam upgrade. It seems like the visuals have an upgrade too. The ameterasu looks a lot nicer and manga like. Same with the smoke and impacts. )

I saw it 2, i was really excited first but now that i have seen that u can ring out somebody just like that with a rasengan. it’s fucked up and so easy they should fix it or take it out !!!!!!!!!!!!

You ppl are really unhelpful i don’t even like naruto himself why do i care about a lame ass goku costume same bs awakening etc. it fails no one really plays with him only if they are op item users more ppl use sasuke and seeing how in generations the number of costumes were equal until this
