New Scan! Naruto Storm 3 Features Butterfly Choji vs Gedo Mazo

Butterfly choji is the lamest powerup I’ve ever seen in any anime. And choji is a terrible waste of space at that. Hopefully hes not in the game at all… but I doubt it.

glad chouji, finally gets some spotlight. however, anyone else noticed how cc2 skipped characters? i mean i read volume 57 yesterday and choujis battle with the gedo statue was way past the silver and gold bros. as well as pakura etc. hope they get confirmed soon :/

Yes, there’s is info. I’m happy. It’s not like CC2 promised to spoil details about the game every week. We still have 4 months of waiting left based GameStop’s NUNS3 release date for the U.S. (3/31/13: it’s not confirmed yet though). I guess the updates might really start flooding in next year. What’s there to truly worry about? Various interviews and videos with the developers have basically clarified that the Storm 3 will go beyond the anime and actually start to show events that happen later in the manga. I’ve heard a RUMOR that Kakashi has been seen using Raiden (Lightning Transmission/ Lightning Chain) in Storm 3, and he doesn’t use that until chapter 568.

Remember when Kishimoto gave character development to characters other than naruto?  Yeah, me neither.

Can’t tell if being sarcastic or ignorant.  What I meant was, back in Part 1, most characters had significant development.  From Neji to Gaara to Kiba to Temari to Kankuro to Lee to Choji.  Now it’s like this, “Oh naruto is losing.  Let’s give him another form transformation.”  Other than naruto and sasuke, there’s basically no character development.  The characters you’re mentioning are just people that showed up for the war and had no backstory before anyway.  They had to be developed somehow or the story couldn’t progress.

Are you serious? I replay the story mode whenever I want some epic cut-scenes and boss battles. Also I show it to my friends and the boss battles convince them into buying the game. I love the boss battles, but I do agree with you hopefully they don’t skip Sasuke vs Danzo boss battle. Either way about the scans they can’t release too much because the anime is in filler right now. Don’t worry we will be getting a LOT of scans starting new years (end of fillers) also it’s different because Storm 2 already had the story mode in the anime they start from Season 1 to Season 7 unlike Storm 3 which is Season 9 to Season 12.

1. I think you don’t understand what character development really means.
2. The characters i have mentioned all had backstory but wasn’t extended more than necessary which I actually think is fine since they aren’t really main characters or main support character.
3. Minor characters don’t really have much effect to the progression of the story, if they aren’t further developed. I guess that is why they call the MINOR characters.
4. At this point of the story what really matters is NARUTO because it is his task/destiney to save the ninja world, so its olny natural that the story focuses more on him, then again KISHI clearly stated in an interview a while back that later in this WAR, the KONOHA 11 will play a huge part in the war later on. So i am guessing that the Konoha 11 will help naruto face Madara Uchiha, Obito, and the 10 tails. CAN’T FUCKING WAIT XD

1. I believe I do understand what character development means.  It’s the progression of the potrayal of a character in the story throughout the plot of the story.
2. The characters you mentioned, for the most part, only appeared during the War arc.  The gold and silver brothers had to have some sort of backstory before they were beaten.  We had to know Mifune’s past to know the reason he wanted to fight hanzo.  I still don’t know what you mean by Ten ten.
3. If you think that Gaara, the other kages, Neji, Lee, Guy, Sakura, Yamato, and other characters don’t have anything to do with progression of the story, then you’re wrong.  They’re the characters that got the series to where it is now.  It would be nice to see some more involvement of these characters instead of just focusing on naruto and sasuke.
4.Sure at this point, it is naruto that is important.  I mean it is his fight.  But wasn’t really necessary to rush the war the way kishi did?  You know, just have naruto kage bunshin all of the minor battles?  Was that really necessary?  Didn’t that tick you off?  I’m naruto, I’m just gonna save the day with my unlimited chakra without focusing too much on the other characters and their battles.
How do you know the Konoha 11 will play a huge role later on?  that’s just your speculation.  I hope they do though.  It’s getting annoying and drawn out.

Don’t worry.  I haven’t forgotten.  It’s not like any one is actually gonna pick Choji outside of the story mode battle even if this is his awakening in free battle.  This piece of news doesn’t nearly satisfy me enough unlike most of the other commentators.

Since there isn’t too much content material to cover this time, I hope the director doesn’t pull another dick move and only give the scenes he loves all the attention…Seriously…being a fan is great and all, but he’s been letting it affect the games both positively AND negatively, which isn’t cool. 

I’m with you, trust me. I’m just not getting excited at all over anything because I know the battle system is still broken. But, I’ve accepted it, I’m not going to take this game seriously, and so it’s w/e. :/

I was actually quite surprised by this.

Kiba is not fast, he has a jutsu with almost zero startup time and combos that catch you even after you sub. Ino is extremely slow combo wise but her jutsu, again, has fast startup. Every character, for the most part, has the exact same dash, NM, and walk speed which is what people usually incorrectly refer to as “too fast.”

But yes, Kiba is overpowered while Ino imo is just fine.

How they could downplay that fight is beyond me. Hopefully Konan at least gets the jutsu updates she deserves (the 1 billion paper bomb ultimate and the destructo disc thing as her jutsu or at least as her awakening L1/R1 special).

i had high hopes for this game but considering the amount of fillers that are popping up i cant see this game going to far in the story line. the only way that it can is if they postpone the release date of the game or they stop following the anime  and start following the manga, but both seem unlikely.

Finally Butterfly Choji in the Storm series! Hope they put in younger butterfly mode choji along with the sound ninja four. They cut out great boss battles when taking out those four.

That’s the same thing I thought too. In a character suggestion I mentioned them making them like Pain since they always fight together. That way they’d take one slot. The main body would be the one who awskened into the jacked up Kyuubi form.

On the second screen, there’s an awakening action icon, so Butterfly is probably Chôji’s awakening, with only one special action (instead of two for Minato, Darui, Mifune, Hanzô) because he’s already big and powerful

I think the same, but certainly the old kages will be present in the game.
The game will have over 72 characters according to CC2. the NUNSG have about 50 characters (Shippuden Only), so the NUNS3 will have more 22 characters:
1 Hanzo
2 Mifune
3 Darui
4 Sasori (probably new moveset, based on the last scan)
Missing 18 characters

I was given the opposing point that if I got everything I wanted in Storm 3 it would take forever to come out. My point wasn’t that it didn’t include things, it was that the things that were already included were either very polished or very unpolished. Consistent quality is what I want, not random quality drops and jumps. 
My wish is that the director has a consistent vision for the storymode and characters.

Yeah i get what you are saying.. Thank you for not being one of those insane haters that rage and i do get what you are thinking about. I also sorta feel that alot of the techniques and traits that the character had has been sweeped under the rug. Like for example the sharingan, when it was first introduced to us it seemed like this amazing power that was so cool when i first started watching it. Then Kishimoto just gave it stupid power- ups like mangekyou sharingan and the eternal mangekyou sharingan. I guess what i’m trying to say is that in part 1, when Sasuke used the sharingan, you knew something was intense! But now all they are doing is just spam the sharingan over and over! And that is not my only example.. Thank you again for that comment!
