About two weeks ago, a then new Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Trailer was released through a program on the Japanese television station, FujiTV. Last week the same trailer was released in higher quality. Now that trailer has been unofficially translated and provided in an English subtitled fashion! A big thanks to YouTube user MegaPizzagirl123!
The end of the trailer mentions a “super wide release”. What that means is up in the air for interpretation. At this time the only place the movie is officially confirmed for release on March 30, 2013 is Japan.
There is also a very cool fan made Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods English dub trailer! Well, the footage is genuine, but the voices are patched together from FUNimation’s Dragon Ball Z anime and synced with the trailer’s video. The exceptions are Bils and Wiss, who are movie exclusive characters that have never appeared in the anime before. It is likely their voices will be different if the movie is ever English dubbed by FUNimation. Anyways, the dialogue translation differs from the official Japanese version of the trailer, but it’s a good watch nonetheless. Again, the audio of the English dub trailer below is unofficial and done by fans!
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the 18th movie in the Dragon Ball anime series. It will take place between Dragon Ball manga chapters 517 and 518, in the 10 year timeskip after Goku defeats Buu, but before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Akira Toriyama along with Toei Animation, Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games are all involved. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is set to release in Japanese theaters March 30, 2013. There is no word on a North American or European release date at this time for either movie.
