Because it’s how Akira Toriyama visioned how Goku would sound so he chooses to keep Masako Nozawa as the Japanese voice actor for Goku. Akira Toriyama sees Goku as a kid at heart so he shows that by making Goku not just act like but also sound like a kid. Every man in the Dragon Ball universe that has a high pitched voice is seen as a kid at heart by Akira Toriyama.

Saiyans can breath in Space.This has been proven numerous times in the manga and anime.

 I doubt it the only time that Tien ever posed a threat in the Dragon Ball Universe was when he was first introduced as a villian in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Other than that he was completely useless in every way possible LOL! He got assraped by Drum, PWNed by Nappa, and got killed by Super Buu(well everybody got killed by Buu except Goku, Vegeta, Hercule, Dende, and and Mr. Buu). The only thing that Tien has done that has been useful since the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament was holding back Imperfect Cell(Android 17 absorbed) long enough for #18 to escape, I think we can all now say that Tien won’t be the hero in this movie. Now if Yamcha was the hero in this movie…….

Ok I just want to say that it has been proven that Saiyans CAN breath in space, however for some reason Goku is excluded by freiza….who knows that saiyans can breathe in space, due to the first scene in the series where Freiza kills Bardock and all the other saiyans in space. 
Freiza DOES NOT know what the atmosphere of the planet goku grew up in is, and doesn’t know that goku thinks he himself can’t breathe in space. So why would freiza say that? 
It could be a mistranslation; I’m about to break out my manga and reread that section to check if it differs from the anime.

Explains why Bardock flew to space and fought Frieza.  Or the trailer.  Oh wait, it doesn’t.  Saiyans aren’t entirely human.  I’m guessing they have stronger bodies that allow them to breathe longer in space than an ordinary human.

You’re not answering my question.  How come Bardock was able to survive in space?  How come goku’s in space in the trailer?  Yes, breathe in space longer than an average human being.  You act as if logic is a factor in anime.  I never once said that Goku could survive prolonged periods in space without oxygen.

Well did Goku ever try taking off the space suit? Maybe the people at Capsule Corp just assumed he would die in space without oxygen so they gave him a space suit. Maybe Saiyans have an internal air pocket that lets them be in zero oxygen situations for short periods of time. Also wasn’t Vegeta training in space when he was trying to become a super saiyan?

The only other time a Saiyan was in space was when Vegeta and Nappa destroyed that planet on the way to earth, which was filler.

Oh, anime filler?  In Dragonball, Goku took that rabbit guy to the moon with his power pole.

I blame partly the internet becuz all of the movies and specials are so readily available that people often pass off their judgment without even TRYING to imagine how the scenario would’ve been at the time of the formers release! (at least in Japan) XP

The DBZ Movies were short but they were epic. DBZ has never had the best of story lines but that’s the only negative thing you can say about the franchise.

I just want to see Super Saiyan 3 Goku again.

I just want the characters to go somewhere… not end up back where they started! (Goku still leaving his son in favor of fighting, Gohan becomes a wuss again for the 3rd time, Piccolo never showing much care for Gohan after Namek, Krillin getting no respect). 

People should stop hating on this movie. Really I think it could better than both Bio Broly and Dead Zone.

Yh i think your right. Bils is a god after all so his power must be so unimaginable that Goku had to battle him outside of Planet Earth so that they could fight in Space! He probably could be on Buuhans level or stronger but no doubt he will be the strongest Movie antagonist. If a SSJ3 can’t stap Bils the only other option to beat him would be the Fusion Dance.

Funny how people are complaining on why Goku is in space breathing, come on this is DBZ there powers have to  go beyond other limits and maybe Goku advances in someway due to training to be able to fight bils in space with no setbacks.

But I have a feeling those who are bitching about Goku breathing in space are superman fans. Come on in the very first issues when superman begins to go to space he is seen wearing space suits then later on he doesnt need them. Little to no information was given on why he is able to breath in space but the fact that he is an alien with  great powers.

With superman though the writers just got carried away with his powers. Like If he sneezes he can destroy a whole galaxy, seriously wtf whats next. If superman farts he causes a second big bang that creates a new universe while destroying the old one.

The main problems I see this movie having is a weak story and bad voice acting (at least with the Japanese version. Especially in comparison to modern animes).

Another problem is that although DBZ is old, and it may not be fair, a lot of people will still compare it to Naruto movies anyways which will make it MUCH harder to enjoy. Especially since The Road to Ninja received such strong reviews.

Not to mention, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think people prefer darker stories now than they did back in DBZ’s day, and this movie simply won’t have it since they want to stick to the overall feel of the original.

Personally, I think it’ll be a great DBZ movie, but mediocre by modern anime standards.

Full blooded saiyans can breath in space. Bardocks, Radditz, Nappa, and Vegeta. Vegeta saw Super Saiyan Goku in outer space after the Frieza Saga.
