One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 – First Gameplay Video

YORODEMO! The first gameplay video for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 has been released! It features over seven minutes of action with our hero Luffy taking on Skypiea’s police force, the White Berets!

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is an action/adventure in development by Tecmo Koei’s Omega Force. The game will be published by Namco Bandai Games in Japan (PS3/PSVita) on March 20, 2013 and Europe (PS3 only) sometime in the summer of 2013. No word on a North American release date at this time.

    You’ll also notice that they’re in the Sunny, and Brook is with them as well. At the start of the demo it said ‘If Story’. which means this is a ‘what-if’ version of events, where it’s asked: ‘What if the Straw Hats went to Skypeia after the time-skip?’. Kind of like the Episode of Chopper movie which had Franky and Robin in, even though they weren’t part of the crew during Drum Island in the canon story.

    This is probably just another mode to the game that is apart from the main story.

    The guy playing freaking sucks. AND WTF come on first Naruto Storm 2013 and now One Piece pirate warriors 2013? Make some effort to change the game wow. Hopefully we have a ton of characters to play as such as warlords, marines, etc.

    Guys, be realistic. The first game hasn’t even been out for a year. You can’t expect there to be massive changes to the graphics and gameplay in under a year.

    Saying that though, I noticed a lot more animation in Luffy’s face while he was performing Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gatling.

     It kinda seems like a repeat of the first game, where OmegaForce was marketing it as “Taking place in the New World”, when really it was only for the tutorial level. This seems more of the same; marketing the game as a “time-skip” One Piece game, but really only covering arcs and characters from the original saga that were missed, except reconfiguring it as a “What-If?” in order to justify having the time-skip characters :/

    On the plus side, the effects for Red Hawk are pretty boss.

    Looks like a nice improvement with the R3 Quick Lock to important targets and the tagging in and out seeming to let you control the second character much more. Still what you would expect from another One Piece Musou short of the UFO appearing pretty early in a game. >_>

    AGREED! All we need is massive DLC and you might as well say namco is a branch of Capcom. I would much rather have these developers take their time to develop an amazing One Piece and Naruto game rather than add a few characters, stages, etc. and trick the public into thinking its a brand new game rather than dlc. SMFH Naruto and One Piece deserve better.

    @your other comment.  Exactly!, the funny thing is I wanted to say that storm 3 didn’t really change anything in the Choji vs Asuma video but I would have been attacked by hundreds of narutards and been called a OP fanboy which makes no sense. Criticizing the game just means you care about the game and anime and you need to tell developers when they do something wrong. Sure i’ll buy it, but probably at a  price drop and used if this is the practice of making games with no effort now man.

    There was only a 1 year gap between the first two DWG games and the second was a massive improvement so this’ll be similar. They’ve got the engine nailed down so a year to add plenty more content is fine.

    I adored the first PW game and I adore the Musou franchise in general so I cannot wait.

    TBH this sequel looks a bit lazy. I love one piece and the first game was addicting and fun as a beat  ’em up but this doesn’t do anything to push the mold. So far the most notable thing was making the combined attacks more versatile and easier  to use. Other wise they literally just updated the move-list and slapped on different skins for the same exact character models. I hope that things change (and they probably will) because this sequel isn’t too appealing.

    Lol they can put “What If story” all they want but this should have been in the first. Luffy’s haki looks cool, other than that I didn’t see to much of a difference in moveset. But I think it’ll get better as time progress.

    hope they make lil hard    and like new  thing they put haki and new move for luffy look cool and  hope make 1v1 and    make something easy to add people u play online because in one piece warrior is hard u need remember person name so  some name are lot so is easy just click and sent friend request . and make hard  so with won pass all lvl that easy make  story longer  if u can try make when start getting work  try to work  in that graphic lil more  and with can use enemy player for example kuma.blackbear,buggy etc that will be epic  keep up i love one piece i thing is pretty good and when game come up going to buy it for sure and try to make  in CD . ^_^

    I hope it’s better than the last one, the last one had a good base but they didn’t make it well, it did not have 1 on 1 which rightfully angered a lot of players, also the game had no replay value, once you’ve done a map it’s quite boring to repeat it again which meant that people, like myself were not inclined to level up all the characters because it was too boring so hopefully they’ve resolved these issues. Also another thing that annoyed me was the lack of playable characters, it was obvious that the enemy’s were made in the same way as the playable characters and it annoyed me that I couldn’t play as Mihawk.

    I just bought the game on PS SALE of 50% off, and i enjoying it, i feels like One Piece, but still plenty can be done, more characters help, but all that can be done with DLC, give character packs bundles, with added scenarios, Naruto games WERE OK!, but they didnt have that great ninja super powering chi focused fighting feel, I have Dynasty Gundam 3(i call it like that), and sure i enjoyed it alot, but at the end of the day, it still felt SHORT to what many mobile suits could actually do. One Piece, needs to add more DLC, 5 bucks for 3 character bundle is good, or 2 per character, add more stories, we live in a era of fast information, why bother with the “re-release” of same engine, a few tweaks, and call it knew when all can be down via DLC, the tweaks can be free, and the character and story paided for….. believe me, its better than BUYING a whole new game…. with the SAME 80% feel of the past one. Maybe its just me dreaming, but oh well, those are my opinions…. and i would love to play as Beckman or Rayleigh *_*… hell i would love to play as Bon Clay (Mr.2) and Buggy…. and why not throw in the baddest pirate….. Roger… hahahhahha (white beard is awesome too)
