Toriko is only less known because it started 4 years ago in 2008 while Naruto started 13 years ago in 1999 meaning that it had ALOT more time to rise. Toriko will eventually rise, but they need games like this to help them become more popular and I believe in about 2-3 years Toriko will be around just as popular as Naruto or atleast Bleach. They say Rome wasn’t built in a day and you can’t build a fanbase for an anime/manga in a day either…

Because this game will probably just be released and Japan and Europe while North America will probably get it via digital copies(since if Europe gets the game, we legally have to get the game too since Namco Bandai Games America and Europe merged to get around the same games as Japan) and since the Xbox is literally dead in Japan there would be no reason making more copies of a game that will cost them more money just to waste space.

What are you talking about??? Toriko has fought people too in the series. Toriko is a badass since the creator of the manga pretty much intended for him to be like Goku combined with Kenshiro from Fist of The North Star. If you weren’t so close-minded and actually gave Toriko a chance, you may like it. Toriko is a good manga in my opinion and so is OP and DB. But here’s the reason why this is allowed, Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) is best friends with Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro (Toriko) and they are both big fans of and are respected by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball), a OPxNarutoxBleach game would never happen XD because the artists have to like and get on with the other artists. Oda wouldn’t mind that game but Kubo and Kishimoto would not agree to it, why? Kishimoto doesn’t like Kubo for some reason? Have no idea why just heard it in an interview they did with Kishimoto on a possible crossover that WSJ wanted them to do (a cover page).

This seems interesting, I mean it’s exciting to know you can put Goku v Luffy but I wonder what other characters are gonna be in it and what the fighting system will be like. If It wasn’t popular, it wouldn’t have ran as long as it already has. By god the fanboys still run wild with their “My manga is better than yours!” All of what you’re saying about Toriko was said about Naruto, Bleach and One Piece in their early production. Back then, Manga wasn’t as big as it is today in the world market also, it’s kinda hard for a new series to topple powerhouses.

Naruto Storm games better look on PS3 so don’t talk nonsense. All games made in by japanese studios are design first on PS3 and latter they create it for xbox. That’s why games like COD and many other games looks better on xbox, because they first create it for xbox and later of ps3. And studios from USA looks to create everything better on xbox. I want obviously Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball and Toriko characters, but let´s ask for the non obvious ones, like Okumura Rin, Aono Tsukune with his vampire transformation from the manga, Yugi, Kaiba, Seiya, Shiryu, Medaka, Kumagawa Misogi, Naze Youka, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, Gon, Hisoka, Kurapika, Lala, Momo, Konjiki no Yami, Gintoki, Tatsugami Oga, Urameshi Yusuke, Rikuo, Yuki Onna, etc.

This raises tons of questions. Well first, HELL YEAH FOR PS3/PSVITA! I was really scared it would be for wii-u for some reason. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be for 3DS even though there have been a few anime games for 3DS already. But it seems that vita anime wise hasn’t been getting any love. This almost feels like when PROJECT NARUTO PS3 was announced and the early scans of it. I have a feeling this might be in development for a year or so. Maybe that’s why they are asking fans who should be in it. But it could be released shortly in 2013. Since it’s “Project” and “Versus” I have a feeling that they just want people to know Toriko, One Piece, and DBZ are in it but that others will be in it. It’s pretty obvious naruto will be in it. Hard to tell if it will be like DON right now but I’m all for that. I really want soul eater, death note, yyh, blue exorcist, fist of the north star, and I really want D. Grayman but I know that’s not jump anymore. JUS was probably one of the best portable fighting games ever. People called it anime smash bros. The characters in the game, stages, the music, and the online. I still have my game cartridge with all my saved data even though I sold my DS. I would love for this to be some sequel to it. For some reason I really feared that the next jump game would be for 3ds or Wii-u. I have nothing against the two systems or nintendo but the region locking is crap and this game will sell WELL since there aren’t region restrictions.

I’d say 4 from each show if possible as Toriko basically has only 4 main heroes while everyone else is useless. It seems the game is VERY early in development considering the lack of a true title. I think their asking for fan input on characters is legit: they have not yet come close to finalizing the roster or even the franchises that will be included.

I know you didn’t mention this, but this feels very different from CC2s NUNS request for suggestions. They didn’t start taking suggestions until nearly a year into Storm 3′s development (evidenced by them confirming a 2 and a half year development time). But this is very early, and only the 3rd scan after being revealed no more then 2 weeks ago. i think our suggestions (mostly Japanese fans obviously, but we could get a few words in) will be taken very seriously.

As far as release, I see late 2013 to mid-2014 since the game, I bet, will focus more on the fighting and crossovers then a full fledged story mode based on the past 2 Jump games (thus less development time). Yes, the PS4 might be out by then, but Japan tends to slack a bit when it comes to developing games for new hardware.

There will be other franchises involved. They are taking requests for characters (from any jump franchise). SI reported that right in the post, and you can see the other franchises right below where it says “Playstation 3″ meaning that too is a part of the game announcement.

Because each of the Shonen franchises are licensed by different companies outside Japan. For example, Funimation has the license for DBZ and One Piece, while Viz Media has the license for Naruto.

With the artworks of different franchises beneath the screenshots, the request for characters, and the fact it says “Playstation 3″ right by them makes it probable these requests will include any Jump franchise the fans want. Plus, a game can’t be an “Ultimate Jump” or a celebration of 45 years (45 years goes much further back then DBZ) with only 3 franchises. I refuse to believe they’d brand it that if that were the case.

It’s possible. We’re just speculating is all. I would love for it to be localized, but licensing issues do get in the way sometimes (it’s the biggest reason for non-localizations or subtracted content given by JP game companies).

Bout was localized, it just came out after the PS1 died.

Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butoden for the DS (a fighting game similar to budokai, a little different though) was never localized.

Also, Dragon Ball Heroes (the 3DS card battle game with Budokai animations) has no release date for regions outside Japan.

I could answer.
Fairy Tail has:
-An unconceivable amount of fanservice even for a Shonen Series.
-Unseccesful attempts of humor -which is cheesy, by the way-
-The characters are so generic, and most of the supporting cast who deserves attention dosen’t get it at all and, conversely, minor characters get that attention.
-The heroes ALWAYS win with the “Power of Friendship” or the fact that they belong to Fairy Tail.
-Not all arcs are connected, also the main goal seems to be pushed back.
-Most females, such as Lucy or even Erza, serve just for ecchi, for it seems.
-The “Heel-face Turn” trope is overexploited to the point that is predictable.
-If there’s character development, it is undone some arcs after.
I guess while Fairy Tail is still likable, if it ever dares to compare to One Piece, it would need MORE than these points I described to do so.

-A little fan service never hurt anyone. I would question your manhood but that’s a different topic.
-I find fairy tail HILARIOUS and most fans of the series would agree with me.
-FT has some of the most diverse and well developed characters in the entire shonen genre. If you want to see no character development go watch naruto or bleach.
-When do the heroes ever not win? Stupid point for every shonen series has the hero eventually winning.
-All arcs are connected. Do you even watch the series? How would you not know this?
-That Lucy and Erza point is the same as your first point. And this is an idiotic comment as well. Erza is one of the strongest characters in the series while lucy is pretty much the protagonist.
-Besides for Gajeel, there really isn’t a heel-face turn trope. You can count Ultear but she doesn’t really join the guild.
-Character development refers to the overall series, not just a particular arc.

I don’t think I compared it to one piece but if I did, I was talking more about specific themes such as the bonds between friends and the will to protect them. FT is one of the best recent shonen series to be released and I would recommend it to any anime fan over the age of 13.
