Full Color Dragon Ball Manga, Preview Pages

Last months issue of V-Jump revealed publisher Shueisha will be reprinting the Dragon Ball manga in full color! This months issue, through a special bonus item, previews pages of the manga in that vibrant color!

The first three volumes of the fully colored Dragon Ball manga, scheduled for a February 4th release, will cover the Saiyan Saga and be comprised of 17 chapters and 248 pages each! The Freeza Saga, planned for released on April 04, 2013, will be comprised of five volumes. The Cell Saga and Buu Saga are planned, but a release date has not yet been announced.

The manga will include a special interview with Akira Toriyama, who is said to clear up many mysteries in the Dragon Ball world.

The Saiyan Saga to Buu Saga, which many of you here on Saiyan Island’s equate to as Dragon Ball Z, will be released in a physical format in the same size as normal Jump manga. Shueisha plans to release the chapters before the Saiyan Saga, known to most of us as just Dragon Ball, at an unknown date in the future in digital only format.

All dates listed are for Japanese release. No word on if North America or Europe will be treated to the full color Dragon Ball manga.

Gah. Digitally colored so it looks like ass. Surely Shueisha could afford a few Copics?

I’m a graphic artist. The fact that it’s digital doesn’t explain why it sucks. It’s just bad. I can get “copic markers” feel that looks real. It’s not even the favorite brushes I use, they could have made a much better work …

I will explain to you, friend! The Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z anime is based on the comic (manga) Dragon Ball. The comic is the source material from which animators create the anime.

The story is the exact same in both of them and it will be the same in the full color Dragon Ball comic. The original Dragon Ball comic when it was released like over 20 years ago was in black in white. Now they are making it in color.

I don’t like they way it looks like. I thought it would just be the original manga but colorized like in the VIZBIG editions. Instead these just look like an Ani-Manga which I don’t really like that much.
