Namco Bandai Games has been traveling to different expos to promote the PlayStation 3/PS Vita/Xbox 360 team melee brawler, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z! The first video is from the 2013 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California, USA. It’s a panel comprised of Atsushi Minowa & Shuhei Sekii (game producers, Namco Bandai), Christopher Sabat (English voice actor of Vegeta/Piccolo), Urian Brown (editor, Shonen Jump Alpha), Hisashi Sasaki (Former editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump), and Jason Enos (Global Brand Manager, Namco Bandai Games America). They summarize much of what we know so far and give a high level overview on some things we didn’t know about Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. One of the new items is there being four different characters types- a fighting type, ki blast type, support type, and interference type.

As you will see in the first video, a fighting type is skilled at close combat and can combo with melee attacks such as the Kaioken. The Ki Blast type is skilled at long ranged battle and can make consecutive attacks using energy blasts. The support types have the ability to provide health regeneration and support abilities to teammates. The interference types that interfere with the opponent movements with techniques like the Solar Flare.

Also, it’s possible there may be a hint to the release of the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in North America before the end of this year as they talked about voice acting for Super Saiyan God Goku. Again, they did not confirm a release of Battle of Gods, they talked about, at least in Saiyan Island’s opinion, in a way that it made like the movie is coming to us soon.

The second video is a higher quality version of the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Gameplay Demo from last week. There is a scene that shows Ultimate Gohan on the game’s menu. One could infer, based on this, the Majin Buu saga is in.

Thousands of miles away in Paris, France the 2013 Japan Expo was also taking place! There, YouTube user and DBZ superfan Treevax had the opportunity to interview Kunio Hashimoto (producer, Namco Bandai Games) and Yoichi Yamaguchi (developer, Artdink)! They discussed about characters, using fan opinions in Battle of Z and potential future DBZ games, why Artdink was chosen to create the game, and more! Many of you are wondering if Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will have the character creation feature that was introduced in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi. As seen in the interview, the answer is no, but players will be able to customize the stats of existing characters.

The interview is available in two languages – the first is in English and the second is in French.
