Released back in March of this year, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 has over 1.3 million sales worldwide. That’s a lot of competition out there! To follow up it’s success, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst (or Naruto Storm 3: Full Burst for short), an upgraded version of Storm 3, will be releasing on October 22, 2013 in the Americas.

Saiyan Island reached out to Namco Bandai recently, curious if Storm 3 Full Burst players can battle original Storm 3 players online. The answer is – that’s the goal! Again, not confirmed just yet, but something that’s being worked towards.

According to the official press release and an interview from earlier in the month (below) with Jason Enos, Global Brand Manager at Namco Bandai, conducted by GamerFitNation, there will be a compatibility or upgrade pack for the original Naruto Storm 3 so they can obtain all of the new items in Full Burst. Enos specifies this does not include the already released DLC costumes since those are old and Namco Bandai wanted to avoid fans having to pay for the same thing twice.

In other words, from Saiyan Island’s understanding, that means the upgrade pack for the original Storm 3 owners, which won’t be free, will consist of playable Sage Mode Kabuto, the Sasuke/Itachi vs Kabuto story mode arc, 100 new missions, updated graphics, bug fixes (if any were actually made), and hopefully the ability to play Storm 3 Full Burst owners online. Again, that’s just our understanding. We’re sure Namco Bandai Games will reveal the price and official details as the October 22nd release date nears. Of course, we’ll keep you updated right here with the latest on Saiyan Island!

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst builds upon the original Storm 3 by adding an additional chapter to the game (Sage Kabuto vs Itachi/Sasuke), Sage Kabuto as a playable character, revamped cinematics, 100 new missions, and 38 costumes that were originally DLC for Storm 3.
