Dragon Ball Z, the saga continues as the latest movie in the legendary anime/manga franchise is heading West! Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods makes it’s way to North America this August thanks to FUNimation Entertainment! The movie will make it’s debut with the world-class English dub we all know and love in a limited theatrical release on August 5, 6, 7, and 9 to over 350 theaters across the United States and Canada. FUNimation has published an official website for the movie where you can sign up for updates to your phone or e-mail on when and if Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will be coming to a theater near you. No word on a Blu-ray or DVD announcement yet, but Saiyan Island hopes to keep you up-to-date with the latest as it breaks! Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it’s too late. Only Goku, humanity’s last hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe! Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Battle of Gods is an original work from Dragon Ball creator, himself, Akira Toriyama.
