Dragon Ball Xenoverse: Beerus, Whis, Jaco Playable, Ape Vegeta Boss

New scans for Dragon Ball Xenoverse have been released! They confirm Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his attendant Whis will be playable characters in the game. Scenes from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods will be reproduced in Bandai Namco and Dimps latest DBZ adventure. You may have seen in past interviews Bandai Namco staff mention Dragon Ball Z movie stories will not be included, however, we have a feeling the reference was to non-canon films. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is part of the DBZ storyline and had the expertise of series creator, Akira Toriyama.

Also confirmed playable through DLC is Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, the main character in a manga of the same name by Toriyama-sensei. Since he is DLC and not in-game, his confirmation should be taken as a Japan-exclusive for now, although it’s possible he may make his way to North America and Europe as Viz Media has already published the English version of the manga.

Last, but not least, Great Ape Vegeta has been confirmed as a boss in the story mode and parallel quests of Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Like the anime, it takes a full moon and the launching of a technique known as the Power Ball for Vegeta to transform into this beast. The way the scans present the scenario make it unclear if this will be a transformation players can undergo as well or if it is a CPU-only affair. At any rate, when coming cross a Great Ape, in order to defeat him, grab the tail and throw! On the same scan as the Great Ape, there are silhouettes of what look like are Bardock and Nappa, and it’s mentioned next month information on transformations will be detailed.
