J-Stars Victory VS+ Gets First PS4 Gameplay

J-Stars Victory VS+ is making its way to the PS4, PS3, and PSVita this summer worldwide. The anime crossover game debuted last year in Japan on the PS3 and PS Vita in the form of J-Stars Victory VS (without the +) and featured 39 playable characters and 13 support characters from 32 of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The new version is an upgrade over last years Japan-only version and contains fixes to remove a few invincibility frames, slicker graphics on PS4, and a new arcade mode.

Speaking of the new arcade mode, the guys over at IGN have footage of it in the first PS4 gameplay! Arcade mode is an endeavor where players battle six consecutive opponents who are in a related classof sorts. For example, there are characters who have mastered their techniques and use tricky attacks, characters who appeared in manga around the year 2010, and characters with great power and physique. The first video shows gameplay against Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star), Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo), and Allen Walker (D.Gray-man) from the great power and physique class. The player can use any character he wishes, in this case using our beloved Son Goku (Dragon Ball Z) as his character with help from Ichigo (Bleach), and Sasuke (Naruto Shippuden) to take on the CPU opponents.

The second video seems to be free battle where the player as Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho) with Goku (Dragon Ball Z) takes on Ichigo (Bleach) and Luffy (One Piece).

Here are a few additional videos from the game by Yandel1982. Thanks Jimmy Smith for the heads up.
