Naruto and Dragon Ball, two of the most illustrious franchises of all time have spawned countless games for all major consoles there since their anime/manga debut. Dragon Ball has been entertaining gamers from the 1980’s on old school 8-bit and 16-bit platforms like the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Sega Genesis to the newest generation of powerhouses, the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One. Naruto was introduced in this world almost two decades after Dragon Ball and many of us have grown up enjoying many of the games based on the #1 hyperactive ninja. Today, we take a trip down memory lane thanks to Anime Games Online, who has created two videos capturing all the openings for every game that has had them.
For Dragon Ball we start in a foreign era known as 1988 with the crossover game Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden and travel through time all the way to this years epic Dragon Ball Xenoverse. For Naruto, we go back to 2003’s Naruto: Clash of Ninja and ninja dash our way to the latest adventure, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution!
The story isn’t finished, however! With the return of the Dragon Ball anime in the form of Dragon Ball Super and the success of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, we’re sure somewhere in Osaka, Japan, developer Dimps is planning the sequel we all very much want. And of course, the masters at developer CyberConnect2 are working on Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, which is scheduled for release at an announced date later this year!
