Dragon Ball Xenoverse World Tournament Announced and Open

Calling all warriors, the Dragon Ball Xenoverse World Tournament has finally opened its doors! Bandai Namco Entertainement has today announced players will be able to participate in the World Tournament (also known as the Tenkaichi Budokai) mode beginning today. The winner will come out with virtual prizes such as Hercule badges, the 7 Dragon Balls, and unique themes and backgrounds using the champions’ avatars from Bandai Namco Entertainement.

The World Tournament is available on all platforms (PS4/PS3/PC/360/Xbox One) and there will be different winners on all five of them.

Here is the timeline for the World Tournament and the official trailer.

August 18 to August 23
During this time you’ll have access to the World Tournament. However, it is only for test purposes. While there will be no winners, feel free to practice your skills!

August 25 to August 30
Time to get your ranking up by winning as many fights as you can during this period! The 4 top players will qualify for the final rounds.

September 5 and September 12
Finalists will face off to be the champion of the World Tournament! All fights will be recorded and displayed on Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be making it’s way to the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will offer in-game transformations, characters with the most detailed facial expressions ever seen in the Dragon Ball universe and new cel shaded graphics. Players will be able to create their own character and take it into battle to fight against familiar faces from the world of Dragon Ball and the created characters of other players online. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse was developed by Dimps (the company behind the Budokai series) and was published by Bandai Namco Games in Japan on February 5th, North America on February 24th, and Europe on February 27th.
