The confirmed roster of playable character has grown to seven today with the announcement of Future Trunks. The news comes via Shuisesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine which shows a screenshot of Future Trunks with his hands in the air, surrounded by yellow ki energy, ready to launch an attack.
The attack Future Trunks is most likely ready to use is Heat Dome in which Future Trunks throws his opponent up in the air and points both his hands up toward them. Then, he charges a large dome of yellow energy around himself. From this energy dome expels a gigantic blast up at the opponent, inflicting an enormous amount of damage. The attack is first seen in Dragon Ball Z when Future Trunks returns to his timeline to destroy Future Cell in his imperfect form.
With that note, the Future Trunks in the screenshot wearing his outfit from Dragon Ball Z in which he is wearing a purple jacket, with a black undershirt and black pants.
Other confirmed characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ thus far are Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu. As more characters are announced, we hope to let you know right here on Saiyan Island!

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in early 2018.
