Back in August of 2016, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 would have a year’s worth of free Updates and new content for at least an entire year from the release date, which was October 25 in North America. They also promised four paid DLC packs, which, over eight months later have now all been released. With a little under four months left until the one-year anniversary of Xenoverse 2’s release date, what’s next?!
The Japanese branch of Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced there will be a new expansion so that users can further enjoy various events in the future. What content will this expansion DLC include? At this point in time it is unknown.
We at Saiyan Island speculate one of two different scenarios or a combination of both that could happen. The first scenario we think could happen are events featuring new raid bosses, more character tournaments, and more Frieza Siege events – similar to what we had in May to June of this year. We personally did not pay attention to these and hope this is not what we get. The second scenario we think could happen is there will be new content that includes playable Demigra, Super Saiyan Rage Trunks, and Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu as playable characters, more attacks, and more costumes. We mention Demigra because the Xenoverse 1 story will be included in the Nintendo Switch version of the game. As for Rage Trunks and Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu, both were part of DLC Pack 4’s story mode, but neither were playable. Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu actually had a character model included in the DLC since he was a boss and because fans data mining the PC version of the game found a hidden slot for him in the game. They also found files for Dabura and Buu (potentially Gohan Absorbed Super Buu) in the game’s files. Again, this is just our speculation.
We highly doubt anything from the Universe Survival Saga will make it in since it is currently on-going and it takes time to develop content for the game, but, you never know! We, and we’re sure other fans, would love to see characters such as Caulifla, Kale, Auta Magetta, Botamo, Bergamo, Toppo, Skinny Buu, Basil, and Lavender since we’ve seen them all fight in the anime.
The Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is making its way to Japan on September 7, so we expect to find out additional information on this expansion DLC by then. Saiyan Island hopes to have that additional information for you as soon as it’s announced!
