Dragon Ball FighterZ: New Info on Online, Trunks & Images of Krillin/Piccolo

The status of Piccolo and Krillin is now confirmed as Shuiesha’s V-Jump magazine reveals both of these characters with some of their signature attacks in Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ!

Piccolo is seen using his stretching abilities, along with his Special Beam Cannon and Light Grenade attack. Piccolo can fire blasts at high speeds and can charge his attacks to do maximum damage to the opponent. Krillin is equipped with the Scatter Kamehameha (also known as Scattering Bullet) along with his signature technique called the Destructo Disc, which Jump mentions is impossible to guard against. Krillin can also use the Afterimage Technique to confuse opponents by leaving behind an image of himself before launching an attack.

Like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ each have their own unique stats. The highest stat number a character can have is a 5, while the lowest is presumably 1. Piccolo’s stats are as follows: Power 3, Speed: 2, Reach: 4, Technique: 4, Energy: 3. Krillin’s stats are as follows: Power: 2, Speed: 3, Reach: 1, Technique: 4, Energy: 4.

There is also new info on Future Trunks, a trailer of whom was released two days ago. That new info are his stats and they are as follows: Power: 3, Speed: 3, Reach: 3, Technique: 4, Energy: 2.

In the online mode for Dragon Ball FighterZ, players will be able to join up in an online hub world as chibi characters to battle one another, which is also seen in developer Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear series as well. You can see the chibi characters in an online hub world within the screenshots in the scan below.

The total count of playable characters confirmed in Dragon Ball Fighter Z is up to nine now – Frieza, Cell, Buu, Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Trunks, Piccolo, and Krillin. The Dragon Ball FighterZ closed beta is expected to have nine playable characters and it is assumed (but not confirmed) this will be the roster of characters in it. Registration for the closed beta begins on Wednesday July 26. We hope to have details on how to register right here on Saiyan Island as soon as they become available.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in early 2018.

Error is correct, no way a 3-vs-3 game would have less than 10 character or about 10. Even the eventual beta might have 12 to 15 at the very least. And thats if they add the likes of the Red Ribbon Androids (#16, #17 & #18) or Tienshinhan, Yamcha and Master Roshi (remaining human characters) to the current game. Thus multiple team options and using their abilities via the system, would be made more viable because of the character selections made available for players once the game out beta and all!

I do agree with you both, can’t see this as a fighting game with an overload/abundance of a huge roster going too high with a ridiculous numbers or so. Reckon it’ll be; 21 to 24 at the very most. With maybe an extra DLC team thrown in there, bringing it all up to; 27 at it final roster count possibly (just my opinion).

How come these Japanese magazines didn’t have or feature; Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Freeza, Cell and Majin Buu abilities on page by page analysis as they’ve later done with; Trunks, Piccolo and Krillin?! keep searching the net and haven’t found them in big splashes images thus far. Or are they yet to come?

Can only see Chaozu being added to the game if Tenshinhan is a playable character. And Chaozu’s apart of his special moves/Supers. And comes in to assist Tien during his attacks during his matches etc. Can even picture Tien having his death move Ki-Ko-Ho!!! blast as an unblockable (landing 50% damage) with an alternate being with Chaozu grabbing a foe and blowing up. Referencing the Saiyan-jin/Saiyan arc or so? And those moves uses to take out a foe. Hell doesn’t Guilty Gear titles have those suicide moves like their “instant kill” but penalizes players if it misses? Well just imagine Tien having a sacrifice kinda move in; Dragonball Fighter Z to take out an opponent or so, potentially?!.

The Budokai Tenkaichi DBZ games were never true fighting games however, so their massive roster lists never truly mattered at all. No ones going to pay money to go to Evo to see mans win with; Frieza soldier’s? #1 or #2 in a huge gaming tournament in 2018 come bet!

  • KingBradley

The hell is a true fighting game?

It’s a fighting game. I select a character and engage in combat with another character be it AI or another player. There’s blocking, countering, chaining combos, special moves and ultimate attacks. Just because something doesn’t play like Tekken or Street Fighter doesn’t mean its not a fighting game.

“No ones going to pay money to go to Evo to see mans win with; Frieza soldier’s? #1 or #2 in a huge gaming tournament in 2018 come bet!”

Okay…what does that have to do with my comment? All i said was Budokai Tenkaichi 3 had the largest roster.

“The hell is a true fighting game?”

Boy live in ignorance all you want to o.k. Budokai isn’t anything like other true fighting games. All of what you mentioned like; blocking, countering, chaining combos, special moves and ultimate attacks etc etc. Is performed way better in games like; Street Fighter, Tekken KOF, Guilty Gear etc so don’t fool yourself by defending DBZ Bukokai because thats not a true fighting game!

“Okay…what does that have to do with my comment? All i said was Budokai Tenkaichi 3 had the largest roster.”

It has everything to do with your comment jack, you’re on about quantity (huge numbers), while other games have whats called; quality. largest roster doesn’t mean anything at all unless its a game where the characters actually have substance to’em and are re-playable for years on end. You seriously going to start arguing about Freiza’s soldiers (without names) #1 and #2, compared to true fighting games where the iconic mainstay characters have long established themselves in a series with a purpose? SF’s Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun Li etc or Tekken’s; Kazuya, King, Paul Phoenix, Yoshimitsu, Jack and so on. KOF’s; Kyo, Terry Bogard, Ryo, Mai Shinranui, Athena, Ikari Team, Psycho soldier team, and so on. Really? i don’t think so jack.

You may not like the answers given to you but YES there are true fighting games compared to the Bukokai ones you maybe use to playing. “Dragonball Fighter Z” is going to only further prove that in the months to come as well.

  • KingBradley

It’s a flipping genre. There’s no such category as “true” fighting game. There’s no “true” action game. There’s no “true” racing game. Budokai is a fighting game. It doesn’t need to be as popular as guilty gear or street fighter to fit a GENRE. That’s like saying Crash Nitro Cart isn’t a true racing game because it’s not like Gran Turismo or Need for Speed. It’s still a racing game. Just to repeat myself, when people call Budokai a fighting game, they’re talking about the genre, not their proximity to Tekken or Street Fighter. Why you would ever start talking about “true” fighting game completely unwarranted, is totally beyond me.

“It has everything to do with your comment jack, you’re on about quantity (huge numbers), while other games have whats called; quality. ”

So this is about you being needlessly defensive of other games that were never called into question? I made a comment about Tenkaichi 3 having a large roster. That’s it. I don’t care about the other fighting games because I was talking about tenkaichi 3 specifically.

“You may not like the answers given to you but YES there are true fighting games compared to the Bukokai ones you maybe use to playing. “Dragonball Fighter Z” is going to only further prove that in the months to come as well.”

Nobody likes your answer because it’s pointless and snooty as hell. “Well Budokai is not TRUE fighting game and Dragonball Fighter Z is going to PROVE that”. What kind of pretentious response is that? Were you sipping on wine with a pinkie out while wearing a top hat and a monocle as you typed that? It’s a whole genre, buddy. Nobody cares about what you think is a true fighting game because nobody asked you about it.

  • superturbo

Will you bloody stop sounding like a little crying baby. You asked for an answer so i gave it to you and everyone else for that matter, so stop whining. You’re speaking for yourself and not anybody else where’s this “nobody likes your answer hogwash” coming from? Don’t see anybody reacting to your bullcrap on here pal. You simply don’t like a healthy doze of what the truth is, this is exactly whats the matter with you pal. Trust me people ‘DO’ actually care what pertains to them as real fighting games dictionary boy. Making excuses and running to i should be happy is your mentally challenged way of handling the sore truth perhaps, but please spare us the crap in regards to what makes you happy.

Clearly thats your cringeworthy way of coming out saying; you’re utterly sh*t at genuine fighting games, YES those exist! And you denying those facts on here, is only making you out to be an even bigger fool than you currently are exposing yourself out to be quite sadly!

  • KingBradley

Okay. Ill ask the gamestop clerk if they can direct me to the true fighting game genre on their website. Your “true” fighting game comment is complete nonsense.

  • superturbo

Yeah, because in your mind true classic fighting games like; Street Fighter 2, King Of Fighters, Tekken and Mortal Kombat and so many others with a complexed and developed system are indeed nonsense right?! Better tell this story in every exact detail to that Gamestop clerk indeed. So when you’re done and finished with the tale, he’ll slap you across the face and tell you i’m friggin correct, so belt up and listen to those who are way more informed than you are junior those are REAL FIGHTING GAMES!!!

Then he’ll probably tell you to get the hell out, pull your damn pants up, go home and shave that first little tiny hair off your damn chin, you idiotic little errand boy!
