WARNING: NARUTO SPOILERS AHEAD

Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring is a ten-chapter mini-series sequel to the original Naruto manga, created by series author Masashi Kisimoto. It takes place fifteen years after the Fourth Shinobi World War and focuses on Sarada Uchiha, the daughter of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura (Haruno) Uchiha. This story takes place before the events of Boruto: Naruto the Movie and after the ghost incidents in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime.

With the ghost incidents now resolved in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the anime can begin a new arc. Starting on August 9, 2017, the Boruto anime will begin a new arc to cover content from the Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring manga. The first episode in the new arc, like the first chapter in the manga, will be titled “Sarada Uchiha”.

In the episode, Sarada misses her father Sasuke, who she has never met as far as she can remember it. When Sarada asks her mother, Sakura, about him, she dodges her questions. With curiosity about her father, Sarada stumbles upon a picture of her father with a women wearing the same glasses. Who is this woman and why is her father standing next to her? This is where the adventure of the Naruto Gaiden begins!

A high quality key visual to promote the arc by the animation studio behind Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Studio Pierrot, can be seen below. It features some of the characters in the series, including Naruto, Sasuke, and Sarada along with Sarada’s academy classmates Chocho and Boruto. Boruto is actually in the background somewhat faded out since he is not a key player in this story like the other four are.
