Dragon Ball FighterZ: SSBKx10 Goku, SSB Vegeta, Android 16, Story Mode Confirmed

Three new characters have been confirmed in Dragon Ball FighterZ! They are Super Saiyan Blue (SSB) Goku, Super Saiyan Blue (SSB) Vegeta, and Android 16. The image below from Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine lists the old name for Super Saiyan Blue – “SSGSS” or Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan – similar to how Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been doing it.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will have a story mode revolving around Android 16, who has somehow been revived. The magazine scan below teases it is a new story for Goku and company in high quality animation where warriors will fall one by one.

According to ryokutya2089, via Shuiseha’s V-Jump magazine, SSB Goku will be able to transform into can use the 10x God Kamehameha and transforms into transform into Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x10 (SSBKx10) to do so while Vegeta has his iconic Final Flash attack. Android 16 can use his Hell’s Flash attack. ryokutya2089 also reports Android 18 will be in the game and have the ability to use her technique Accel Dance, which is a team attack that involves Android 17. It’s unclear if Android 17 will also be playable as a standalone character at this time. Additionally, ryokutya2089 mentions V-Jump touts 3-vs-3 online party matches that allow for six different players to each control a different character.

It’s assumed both SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta are separate characters from normal Goku and Vegeta. If true, this brings the total roster count of characters to 13 – Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, Krillin, Piccolo, Future Trunks, SSB Goku, SSB Vegeta, Android 16, and Android 18.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3-vs-3 team battle fighting game in development by Arc System Works, the same developer as the acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are straight out of the Dragon Ball series. It will will incorporate ultra high-speed battles and various flashy moves, including Goku’s iconic Kamehameha. Dragon Ball FighterZ will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in early 2018.
