Players have been asking for character creation in the Naruto video games, especially after the feature was introduced in the world of Dragon Ball video games with Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Now it’s Naruto’s turn, believe it! Bandai Namco Entertainment and Soleil Ltd’s are delivering with Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker as players can create their own ninja character to battle in the world of NARUTO for the very first time!
In the latest trailer and gameplay video, we can see four different created characters types in action – a ranged type, heal type, attack type, and defense type. These are the four basic types of characters that can be created in the game. However, there are far more details that go into a created character. There are over half a million combinations that can be made between the weapons, costumes, accessories, and jutsu. And that number balloons to well over five million possible combinations in terms of avatar facial features likes like hair, mouth, eyes, and face paint. You can see some of the details shown in the screenshots below.
To learn new jutsu for their created character, players will need to go to the VR Ninjutsu Arena. This is will be a virtual reality arena, similar to the one seen in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 where players fight with ninja of the past. The big difference is, in Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, players will learn new jutsu for their created character! Just to clarify, Virtual Reality in Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker will not utilize PlayStation VR or any other VR device. In the world of Naruto, technology has advanced quite a bit. For example, we’ve seen Boruto play on a handheld in Boruto: Naruto the Movie. We’ve also seen him use a device that allows ninja to use any justu. One of the technological advances in the Naruto universe is the ability to fight virtual versions of ninja spanning the generations. This is virtual reality in the Naruto world, the ability to fight the strongest ninja from different parts of history. Again, it is not a virtual experience for you, the player, but instead for your in-game character.
As for the latest trailer and gameplay, both can be seen below. The gameplay, which is the first video, shows a battle with created characters and those from the Naruto Shippuden universe. It’s two teams of four (4-vs-4) and they are battling for a flag. The team that is able to capture it in the allotted time of six minutes is the victor.
Thus far, 12 character have been confirmed as playable from the Naruto universe on top of created characters – Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Kakashi Hatake, Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, Pain, Konan, Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi, Hinata Hyuga, and Rock Lee. As more characters and information for Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker is released, we hope to let you know right here on Saiyan Island!
