The hunger is real as this up-coming weekend as fans will finally get to jump into Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ. Offering 3-vs-3 tag team battles, this is the first competitive fighter in the Dragon Ball series in the current generation of consoles.
Select lucky players are receiving their invitations for the closed beta as of today, allowing for downloads of the beta to prepare ahead of time for the weekend ahead. PS4 owners will have a file download size of 1.5 GB, while Xbox One owners have a 2.07 GB download. It is worth noting there will be no beta for PC/Steam.
There will be 11 playable characters in the beta – Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Future Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, Android 16, Android 18, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu. The beta will be available at specific times this weekend. For anyone who has already downloaded the beta, they know there is nothing that can be done at this point in time. They will be met with a Dragon Ball FighterZ title screen with music (video below) that says “Press Any Button”. Pressing any button leads to the beta to try to connect to the network, but since the beta is currently offline, a message that says “Failed to initialize network” will pop-up.
The schedule for the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta is as follows:
