Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has trademarked “BOUNTY RUSH” with the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). When we think “Bounty” the first and only Bandai Namco video game franchise that comes to our mind is One Piece!
It’s been a while since the last One Piece video game came out. The latest video game title based on Eiichiro Oda’s hit manga was released in mid 2016 – One Piece: Burning Blood. Since then, we’ve just had previously released One Piece games re-released (or soon to be re-released) on different platforms – One Piece: Unlimited World Red to PS4 and the Nintendo Switch and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 to the Nintendo Switch.
With the filing of this trademark, a new One Piece game may be coming soon! What platform(s) will this new One Piece game be on? It’s unknown at this time. It could very well be a mobile game and not a console game. One thing is for sure is that this is a One Piece game. At least, there is a very strong indication – Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan has the URL http://opbr.bn-ent.net reserved with a test page. If you note in the URL the letters “OPBR”, one could easily deduce (with information of the trademark filing) a potential meaning – One Piece: Bounty Rush.
Of course since Bandai Namco Entertaiment has not officially announced anything yet so at this point in time, this is nothing more than a trademark filing and upload of a test page on Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan’s website.
If any information is announced for One Piece: Bounty Rush, we hope to let you know right here on Saiyan Island!
