Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on the Nintendo Switch is a success! According to Wall Street Journal tech reporter Takashi Mochizuki, over 300,000 copies of the game were shipped worldwide by September 30 and as of today during Bandai Namco Entertainment’s latest financial results briefing, over 400,000 copies of the game have been shipped. From our understanding, those are just physical shipments of the game and it does not include digital sales. In total, as of last week, Bandai Namco announced that total shipments and digital sales for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 across all platforms – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Switch – had exceeded 3.3 million.
The Switch version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was launched on September 7 in Japan and September 22 in the Americas and Europe so 400,000 copies shipped is quite impressive! The success of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and other Bandai Namco games on the Nintendo Switch has led the company to announce there will be three Switch-exclusive titles released worldwide in the future. No information was provided beyond that point, just that Bandai Namco will announced details for them in the Spring and Summer of 2018.
Despite the success of Xenoverse 2 and other Bandai Namco titles, no information has been announced for a much-desired Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ. At this point, we wait and hope for the best!
