Universe 7’s God of Destruction, Beerus, is joining the open beta roster for Dragon Ball FighterZ! This is a pleasant surprise as it was expected the character roster would be the same 11 characters as the closed beta. It’s unclear if Beerus will be a playable character in addition to the 11 characters in the closed beta or if he will be replacing one.
The closed beta had the following 11 characters playable: Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Future Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, Android 16, Android 18, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu.
Bandai Namco has mentioned for the open beta the contents may change without notice. With the closed beta, they initially announced there would be 9 playable characters, then in another announcement they mentioned there would be 10 playable characters, but to the delight of all fans, the closed beta actually ended up having 11 playable characters.
It initially seemed like the open beta would have the same contents of the closed beta, but with Beerus being confirmed, the situation is certainly different! We have seen Bandai Namco mention the open beta application will be a separate download from the closed beta so of course, we hope for more updates, but we’ll have to wait and see as we get closer to the open beta.
