The game will have up to 50 characters including Suigetsu, Orochimaru, and the Mizukage. However, the Naruto Impact will only have 26 playable characters that are selectable. Players will be able to play as giant bosses such as Gamabunta, however, he is not a character that can be taken into story mode and fought with like the characters listed above.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is heading its way to the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in Japan, North America, and Europe in the Spring of 2012. CyberConnect2 been mentioned the game will have an improved online mode. At Saiyan Island, we’re always excited to share our opinions on what we would love to see in the latest Storm game. Below is a list of our top 10 suggestions for online in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations!

10. Lobby Room w/ Text Chat

Exchanging virtual blows of friendship – that’s the reason we play online with our fellow Naruto fans! However, sometimes it feels like we’re just playing a more skilled CPU. There isn’t any pre-game interaction, and it’s something we felt Storm 2 sorely needed. There have been times where we’ve waited that little dust cloud roll around for 5-10 minutes before a player match is made. Until we go to the character selection screen, we need a lobby room to text chat with our potential opponents to not only pass the time, but interact with Naruto fans who we would otherwise never have met!

09. Personalized Camera Views

The camera for Storm 2 was pretty good at keeping both characters in focus, for the most part. The host (player 1), has the behind the character view, and as player 2 there would be a more wider view. Essentially the camera is the same as player 1, except player 2 sees their character out in the distance. Some may love the player 2 camera angle, but we personally hate it! After playing the single player story mode, which puts players in the player 1 host slot, going online and acting as player 2 is annoying! For a local match CyberConnect2 has got it exactly right, but for online, players should be given the option to select their camera view. Either behind the character like Storm 2’s player 1 or a wide view like Storm 2’s player 2.

08. Mini-Games

Before Storm 2, almost all of the games in the Ultimate Ninja series had mini-games. We would love to see them return in Generations and with online capability. Check out our prior article, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Mini-Games Wish list, for the full details.

07. In Game Taunts

Sometimes the opponent is just so terrible you want to say something to them, but you can’t because voice chat is off. Well, we at Saiyan Island propose in-game taunts! And not just any taunts, but hot-blooded character-specific words of torment! In other words, if it’s a battle between Neji and Lee, Lee could say something along the lines of "Hard work overcoming a genius, now this is a true match of ability".

How could this be accomplished? Well, we’re sure the talented folks at CyberConnect2 can come up with a few hundred ways to do so. The easiest way would be to pre-record phrases for each character. So if Lee sees Neji, he could say what we mentioned above in-game on our command.

The way we envision it for true customization is the voice actors for the game/series record hundreds of commonly used words in the Naruto series, and then the player can join together different words to make phrases. For example, say the voice actor for Sasuke records the 7 words – “destroy” “leaf,” “Naruto,” “you,” “will,” “the” and “I”. As the player in some kind of customizing menu, we can then make the phrase “I will destroy the Leaf” or with those same words “The Leaf will destroy you, Naruto” and assign the buttons we will press to activate those words. Then during a battle, players can move the PS3’s L3 button, for example, to the left and Sasuke can speak his taunt.

06. Spread Out Ranks

In Naruto Storm 2, 9,999,999 BP is the maximum score one can attain in the online mode. However, at about 965,000 BP, one can attain the max rank, Hero. Between 965,000 and 9,999,999 there is a whole lot of nothingness. While it’s still fun to play Storm 2, there is really no actual sense of achievement or motivation to continue playing. We feel the ranks should be spread out! In Storm 2, at 2500 BP one can become a Genin, and not too many people stay there for long. In order to have more diverse ranking between players, up the stakes so maybe it takes 10,000 BP to be Genin. As for Hero, only those who get to 9,999,999 can call themselves one. It’s true getting to 9,999,999 BP is an impossible feat for most, but it will add a whole new level of interest to the game. After all, would Naruto want to be Hokage if everybody could become one so easily?

Nice Guy Exercises

Originally included in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 for PS2, Nice Guy Exercises tests button mashing speed (pushups), accuracy in tandem with speed (squats), and timing (poses). This mini-game puts you, Naruto, to the test against Guy. In Storm Generations we'd like any one to four players to be able to pull off these exercises with a character of their choosing. In other words, player 1 can be Sasuke taking on another player who is Pain. This mini-game can still be called "Nice Guy Exercises" simply by putting Guy in the background watching these hot-blooded battles of youth! In a battle between 2 to 4 players, the winner would be the person who can perform the most push ups, squats, and poses.

Shadow Possession Challenge

With Shikamaru being the genius he is, a mini-game with a test of intellect is a must! Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 for PS2 had a Simon Says like mini-game called "Shadow Possession Challenge" where the player had to remember the sequence of poses Shikamaru did and then copy them. Since Shikamaru can control multiple people with this jutsu, extending his shadow to multiple players should not be a problem if this game was to be included in Storm Generations. As you can see in the video below, each round becomes progressively harder with more buttons to remember. In a battle between 2 to 4 players, the winner would obviously be the person who is able to stay in the game the longest. We'd say each player should have no more than 10 seconds to pull off their pose rather then what look to be an indefinite amount of time in Ultimate Ninja 2 to add to the pressure and prevent any cheating!

Tenten's Dojo Practice

In Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 for PS2, Tenten's Dojo Practice let players test out their speed and accuracy by hitting targets that randomly appeared. Each target has a button on it, such as Triangle or Circle, and by pressing those buttons the player could throw a shuriken to knock it down. In Storm Generations, in a battle between 2 to 4 players, the winner would obviously be the one who hit the most targets. And just like in the Ultimate Ninja 3 version, shurikens should collide if multiple players try to hit the same target at the same time.

Hide and Seek

As a solo mission that had to be repeated a bunch of times in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for PS3, finding Konohamaru along with Moegi and Udon was a pain. Well, the first time it was fun, but after that it was a pain. So why are we suggesting it? Because it can be fun when playing against friends! Rather than having to look for Moegi and Udon, we think it would be best to just search for Konohamaru in a huge free-roam Hidden Leaf Village. Whoever finds him first is the winner!

Tree Climbing

Seen in a couple of the Ultimate Ninja games, tree climbing is a fun mini-game where Naruto runs a certain distance up a tree in a specified time interval. Like all mini-games, this has been a solo endeavor. In a battle between 2-4 players Storm Generations, we'd love for players to select any character and then have them run up the tree. The winner would obviously be the one who gets to the top first! And yes, we'd love to have all of those power ups and obstacles found in the Storm 1 version of the game to make the game more competitive!

Tree Hopping

Both the anime and manga have shown Naruto and crew continuously hopping on tree branches when making their way through forests. If memory serves us correct PS3's Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 was the first game to have this challenge. As shown in the video below, the main objective is to reach a certain point or capture somebody (like Pakkun the dog). Players have to dodge paper bombs and other trees to gain speed and catch the hound. Like the tree climbing exercise, in a 2-4 player battle, the first one to reach the endpoint or capture whoever the goal is should be the winner!

Gamabunta

Summoners: Naruto, Minato, Jiraiya Triangle+Circle: Toad Oil Bullet - Gamabunta shoots a sticky, oily bullet from his mouth.. Triangle+Square: Water Release: Gunshot - Gamebunta shoots a high-speed chakra-infused water bullet from his mouth

Katsuyu

Summoners: Tsunade, Sakura Triangle+Circle: Tongue Tooth Sticky Acid - Katsuyu shoots barf-like acid from her mouth Triangle+Square: Slug Great Division - Katsuyu divides into millions of smaller forms of herself. In Generations, she should launch a couple of her miniturized versions of herself at the opponent.

Manda

Summoners: Orochimaru, Kabuto, Sasuke Triangle+Circle: Manda doesn't have any formalized jutsu, so we think a high-speed dash attack into the opponent would be nice Triangle+Square: Shoot wind from mouth (like the Demon Fox in Storm 2)

Enma

Summoners: Hiruzen (3rd Hokage), Konohamaru Triangle+Circle: Prison Wall - In the anime all this does is protect the 3rd Hokage. In Generations, the opponent should be trapped and if the jutsu is successful, it strangles them. Triangle+Square: Transfrormation Staff - Enma transforms into a staff and thrusts himself into the opponent as if he were a kunai being thrown

Pakkun

Summoners: Kakashi Triangle+Circle: Bite the opponent (like he did to Shikamaru during the Chunin Exams) Triangle+Square: Throw kunai

Baku

Summoners: Danzo Triangle+Circle: In the anime Baku inhales, causing fierce winds that suck the opponent torward him. In Generations, we think the same should happen, followed by a nice trunk whip Triangle+Square: Shoot wind from trunk (like the Demon Fox in Storm 2, except Baku uses it's trunk)

Unnamed Drill-Beaked Bird

Summoners: Pain Triangle+Circle: Use it's beak to dive in at an opponent at high speed Triangle+Square: Egg Bomb - In the anime the bird drops egg-shaped bombs that explode

Demonic Statue of the Outer Path

Summoners: Madara Triangle+Circle: Demonic Statue Shockwave - this pushes enemies back similar to Pain's Shinra Tensei Triangle+Square: Demonic Statue Chakra Blast - this allows the demonic stature to shoot chakra from it's body similar to Pikachu's thundershock from Pokemon

In Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, there were many occasions where the opponent would select the same character as us. In battle, this would often times be either a frustrating or confusing experience as both characters looked exactly the same. We would think we were about to launch an attack, when in fact it was our opponent. A way we believe developer CyberConnect2 can help us fans mitigate this problem in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is to allow for alternate costumes. We saw a little of this in Storm 2, but we feel at least the top used fighters, if not everybody, should have an alternate. Below are 15 characters we feel will be overly used in Generations, and thus, should have an alternate costume. We’ve listed, with images, some of the costumes we’d love to see. Not all of the characters below are confirmed. For a list of confirmed characters, check out the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Generations Playable Characters list. Remember, this is just out top 15 wish list based on who we think will be overly used in Generations. We would love to see everybody (from Sakura to Gaara to Bee and beyond) have at least one alternate costume. It would definitely be awesome fan service!

The Great Naruto Bridge

This is one of the first battle arenas in the Naruto series. The very first arc takes place here and with Zabuza and Haku confirmed, this stage is a required addition to Storm Generations. There must be mist for the full authentic feel!

Chunin Exam Preliminaries Arena

The preliminaries arena was in Storm 1, so carrying this over to Storm Generations shouldn't be a problem for the talented team at CC2. A cool extra would be if the names of the fighters appear on the electronic board (the thing in the anime that randomly determined who's fighting) before the match begins. And then during the match, it would still be visible.

Chunin Exam Stadium

In Storm 1 this stage was very nice, and very huge, so carrying it over exactly shouldn't be a problem for CC2. One additional feature we would love to see is stage interaction like the ability to break the trees. For example, if Temari launches a wind attack, the trees should literally be pulled out of the ground. And then with the landscape change, a tree might be laying around in the middle of the stadium. Naruto, for example, should be able to launch a Rasengan on the tree and it makes a hole in the tree if it's a weak Rasengan or launchs the tree, spinning, at the opponent if it's a strong Rasengan. Truly be awesome if this happens!

Top of the Lookout Tower

In Storm 1, this was a beautiful stage, so carrying it over exactly shouldn't be a problem for CC2. A feature we'd love to see is damage infliction if the purple Sound 4 barrier is touched. In the anime, when an ANBU member touched the barrier, they burned up and died. We just want damage inflicted on the characters if this happens. It would add an extra element of depth to the match.

Leaf Hospital Rooftop

This is where Naruto vs Sasuke Part 1 took place. It was a defining moment in the series as Sasuke felt jealous of Naruto so having it is a must! It would be very cool to run behind the sheets for cover or to hide and jump on to the water towers on the rooftop, just as Naruto and Sasuke did in the anime.

Tenchi Bridge / Heaven and Earth Bridge

This is where Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Yamato met with Kabuto and Orochimaru. If memory serves us correctly, the bridge was a bit fragile when attacks were launched, so in Storm Generations if this stage could feature an instable, moving back-and-forth bridge just like the anime, how sweet would that be! And yes, characters should be able to lose their balance to add an extra challenge to the fights! In otherwords, the bridge should be stable when the fight begins, but after some jutsus are launches and players are sent flying, the bridge should sway.

Valley of Clouds and Lightning

The Valley of Cloud and Lighting is a stage fans wanted, but was left out in Storm 2. It was the setting of the battle between Sasuke and Bee.  The stage is similar to the training stage if you think about, with land and some water. But just for the fan service, this stage should be included in Storm Generations.

Three Wolves Mountain

The Five Kage Summit took place just inside of this area. Team Hawk did some scouting around this area. This would be a nice stage to have to add diversity to the stage lineup. In Storm 2, with the exception of some light rain, the weather was always nice. Adding a stage with some medium to heavy snow would be a good change.

Samurai Bridge

Setting of the Sasuke vs Danzo fight, this is a stage that should be included to stay true to the anime/manga. In addition, we would love it if players can jump off the bridge and onto the water, just like Sasuke did in the series. When we say jump onto the water, we mean down under the bridge where Sasuke later clashed with Naruto. To be able to switch between the top and bottom of the bridge would make the stage a unique one!

Kage Arc Summit Tunnel

This is where numerous fights like Sasuke vs Raikage happen. We're not sure what the stage will be called in Storm Generations, but it is already confirmed!

Ship

As Naruto, Bee and company head toward the Island Turtle, they ride on a ship, and this is the ship we want as a stage. We're sure most will disagree with this, however, Naruto is a series filled with forests, towns, and open land. Think of Storm 2's stages, that's all there really was. A ship stage, while staying true to the series, adds a new kind of arena to fight in. We imagine this stage would have a beautiful, scenic background that constantly changes, since the ship is moving. As this is happening, characters can duke it out in the foreground for an untraditional, but enjoyable, fighting arena.

Falls of Truth

The Falls of Truth, located on the Island Turtle, is where Naruto trains to get a hold of the Fox's powers. Specifically, he fights Dark Naruto. We imagine and hope this stage to be a completle walk on water arena, maybe with a small patch of land, since that is what's true to the manga.
